Olive Ave., Sunnyvale, CA 94086 CALL TO ORDER Gerri Caruso, Principal Planner, called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. PUBLIC HEARINGS 1 File #: 2015-7944 Location: 345 Waverly Street (APN: 165-12-039) Applicant / Owner: Anthony Barre / Anthony & Susan Barre Trustee Proposed Project: USE PERMIT to allow an 11'-4" tall, 241 square feet workshop in the rear yard of an existing single-family residence, attached to an existing 400 square feet detached garage. Reason for Permit: A Use Permit is required to allow areas of all accessory structures to exceed 450 square feet, and exceed 25 percent encroachment of the required rear yard. Project Planner: Aastha Vashist, (408) 730-7458, avashist@sunnyvale.ca.gov Issues: Rear yard coverage Recommendation: Approve with conditions Ms. Caruso clarified with Aastha Vashist, project planner, if any additions or information had come in since the writing of the staff report and noticing to the public. Ms. Caruso reiterated that many lots in the neighborhood do not meet standards in terms of size and width as well as numerous detached buildings. No specific permits were found for current garage. Ms. Caruso opened the hearing to the applicant. Anthony Barre, applicant, states his plans for the space use. He clarified there are no intentions to use the space as living quarters. Ms. Caruso clarified with Mr. Barre the Conditions of Approval stating deed restrictions will not allow future building conversion without City approval. Mr. Barre stated he has no plans to add new fencing. Ms. Caruso opened the public hearing. Jennifer Olsen, neighbor, inquired about noise during construction. Ms. Caruso clarified with Mr. Barre that the staff report and conditions of approval had been read and there were no additional comments. Ms. Caruso closed the public hearing. ACTION: Approved subject to the findings and conditions of approval located in the staff report with modifications: 1) Applicant must maintain standards in accordance with the city's noise ordinance.
