PROCEEDINGS OF THE REGULAR COMMON COUNCIL MEETING SUPERIOR, WISCONSIN Tuesday, December 7, 2021 The Regular Meeting of the Common Council was called to order by Mayor Jim Paine at 6:30 p.m. in the Government Center, Board Room 201. 1. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 2. PRESENTATIONS AND PUBLIC HEARINGS 3.1 Selection of 8th District Alderperson The following members of the public recommended appointing Robert Pierce: Butch Liebaert and Andy Campeau. MOTION to nominate Robert Pierce by Councilor Elm, seconded by Councilor Ledin. MOTION to nominate Mike Herrick by Councilor Bender, seconded by Councilor Kern. Robert Pierce appointed 8th District Alderperson by roll call vote, with Mayor Paine breaking a tie vote: Robert Pierce – 5 Ledin, Van Sickle, Elm, Graskey, Paine Mike Herrick – 4 Bender, Sweeney, Fennessey, Kern 4. Approve 2% wage increase for Non-Union wage plans effective January 1, 2022 Councilor Van Sickle abstained. MOTION by Councilor Bender, seconded by Councilor Ledin and carried, to approve. 10.2 CITY CLERK RAMOS recommending approval of the election inspector roster for the 2022-2023 election cycle. MOTION by Councilor Elm, seconded by Councilor Bender and carried, to approve. 10.3 ORDINANCE O21-4262, introduced by the Common Council of the City of Superior, to amend City Code Chapter 112-Traffic Code, Schedule J, Accessible Parking Zones, to add a sign at 904 Oakes Ave (one side). MOTION by Councilor Bender, seconded by Councilor Ledin and carried, to approve. 10.4 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, PLANNING AND PORT DIRECTOR SERCK introducing Resolution R21-13585, setting a public hearing to review and approve the 2040 City of Superior Comprehensive Plan Update. MOTION by Councilor Elm, seconded by Councilor Ledin and carried, to approve. 11.
