Golf course meeting called to order at 12:00 p.m.
1. Seeking approval of the February 8, 2021 Golf Course Committee meeting minutes
MOTION by Sweeney, seconded by Graskey and carried, to approve the February 8, 2021
meeting minutes.
2. Further discussion on a golf simulator, food and beverage and winter activities with
additional information from Tom Beaudry
a. Beaudry looked into pricing and the cost of one simulator is around 30K-35K
depending on the features selected. For winter activities, programming could be put
together. Beaudry suggested addressing these topics at a later time once it has been
decided what capital expenditures for next year will be in order, to plan accordingly.
3. Golf Course Cash Flow Statement – Prepared by City Finance
a. Puetz reviewed the cash flow statement, described the differences between Kemper
and City financial statements and pointed out that the needed irrigation system will
need to be addressed as the existing projected cash flow will not cover it. Financing
options will likely need to be explored.
4. Standing agenda items:
a. Profit/Loss – Budget/Actual Statement
a. Beaudry stated the range opened on March 29th. The new range ball system is in
place and the machine has already paid for itself.
b. Year over year the numbers look good. This might be due to some people
waiting last year to get season passes which might mean it’s too early to make a
good comparison.

b. General Manager/Golf Pro – report
a. Beaudry mentioned the new cooler and tap system that will be fully installed
soon. The tap system will give cost savings and the new cooler was really
needed.
b. The Course got 3 new hires with the job fair.
c. The patio was made more level which will help with safety.
d. Kolbe asked why a bucket of balls must be used same day. Beaudry stated that it
is related to the software. Loomis stated they can look into having the codes not
expire for a few days. Beaudry also stated that golfers could instead get a fob
with range tokens that would not expire same day.
c. Superintendent – Grounds/Maintenance report
a. Dodge stated his crew is busy but that work on the course is going well.
b. Kolbe and Sweeney have both received calls regarding difficulty in seeing flags
on the course. Dodge will see what he can do about this.
c. Hoag likes the way 3 north is with the ropes across. Kolbe would like to see ropes
on 8 north.
d. Dodge reported that over the winter, some of the annual blue grass died that
was in low areas. Better drainage would help with this.
d. General Manager top three concerns.
a. Beaudry said his top three concerns are training staff, supply chain and
consistent good weather. Loomis added that this is consistent with the Kemper
Sports wide top three concerns which are staffing, securing/acquiring products
and services and course care.
e. Nemadji Women’s and Men’s Club – concerns/updates
a. Clark stated the Men’s Club had a record 38 team spring kick off.
b. Hoag said the Women’s Club is deciding if they should host an invitational. As of
now, likely not. For now the Women’s Club will likely focus on club member
events only.
5. Future agenda items
a. Hoag would like to see the memorial plaque and winter activities on future agendas
later this year.
6. Next meeting Monday, June 14, 2021 or July 12th at 12:00 p.m.
a. The committee decided the next meeting will be June 14, 2021 as 12:00 p.m.
