Standing agenda items: a. Profit/Loss – Budget/Actual Statement a. Beaudry stated April was a very good month. Revenue outpaced budget as the course opened two weeks earlier than planned. All revenue is up in April year over year. Expenses also reflected the early open. The driving range opened in March and by the end of April it has already generated revenue equal to half of the estimated revenue for the whole season. b. General Manager/Golf Pro – report a. Beaudry mentioned he has had challenges with staffing between a positive Covid test and a resignation. Staff will be doing training on True Service and Nemadji’s rating on True Review continues to be above industry standard. There are many upcoming events that marketing has been focused on. Walk in Cooler is scheduled to be finished soon. They are painting all white surfaces and touching up discolored brown areas. Lack of rain last month was hard on the course. b. Sweeney asked about the 3 hole, par 3 course. Beaudry stated it is free and it is used heavily by youth and overflow when the course is busy. c. Superintendent – Grounds/Maintenance report a. Dodge stated there has been extremes in temperatures and precipitation with swings from hot to cold, no rain, then much. Dodge is concerned about getting through a dry year with an irrigation system that is in rough shape. b. Hoag thanked Dodge for his hard work and commended him on his excellent staff. Golf Course Committee Meeting 1 June 14, 2021 d. General Manager top three concerns. a. Beaudry said his top three concerns are all food and beverage right now. e. Nemadji Women’s and Men’s Club – concerns/updates a. Clark stated he needs to work with Tom on a new program to enter scores which will help standardize handicaps. Clark has fielded many complaints about the price increase on the player’s card. Beaudry stated that this price was one of the most undervalued which is why it had such a large increase and that it shouldn’t see such a large increase again next year. Clark stated that if the twilight rate cost more than the rate the men’s club pays to golf on league nights, that players have complained about this as well. Beaudry added that the twilight rate was also another severely undervalued rate until the increased price this year. b. Hoag said the Women’s Club now has 103 members, 18 of which are new, 4 are welcome back members. Most new members joined the Thursday night league. The Women’s club canceled their invitational but will do the membership scramble on July 27. They hosted a music and food shelf donation event and they have a club championship coming up. Overall everything is going well. 5. Future agenda items a. Hoag would like to see the memorial plaque and winter activities on future agendas later this year. The committee decided to table the memorial plaque for a few months. 6. Next meeting Monday, July 12th at 12:00 p.m. Golf course meeting adjourned at 12:50 p.m. Golf Course Committee Meeting 2 June 14, 2021
