HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMITTEE Minutes November 28, 2022 Special Meeting The meeting was called to order by Chair Tim Meyer at 5:33 pm on November 28, 2022 in Government Center Room 204. 1 ROLL CALL PRESENT: Tim Meyer (Chair), Kathleen Laakso, Matt Osterlund VIRTUAL: Tom Wondolkowski, Brian Finstad ABSENT: None CITY STAFF PRESENT: Jeff Skrenes OTHERS PRESENT: None 2 APPROVAL OF MINUTES 3 OLD BUSINESS 3.1 Certified Local Government status recommendation to Common Council MOTION to support the City of Superior applying for Certified Local Government status by Member Finstad, seconded by Member Osterlund, carried. The application process shall include record-keeping in compliance with CLG guidelines. The HPC supports changes in City code that are required for CLG eligibility and recommends appropriate staff and departmental review of code with the Wisconsin Historical Society regarding best practices for historic preservation in CLG communities. 4 NEW BUSINESS 5 RECURRING BUSINESS 6 ADJOURNMENT MOTION to adjourn by Chair Meyer, seconded by Member Osterlund, carried.
