HUMAN RESOURCES COMMITTEE Meeting Minutes July 15, 2024 Regular Meeting The meeting was called to order by Chair Van Sickle at 5:01 p.m. on July 15, 2024 in room 204 of the Government Center. 1 ROLL CALL MEMBERS PRESENT: Jenny Van Sickle, Jack Sweeney, Mark Johnson (virtual), Garner Moffat (alternate) CITY STAFF PRESENT: Beth Archer, Cammi Janigo, Todd Janigo, Mayor Paine (virtual), Ida Sampson, Deb Williams OTHERS PRESENT: John Ramos 2 APPROVAL OF MINUTES 2.1 Human Resources Committee (Meeting held May 20, 2024) MOTION by Sweeney, seconded by Moffat. Motion carried. 3 OLD BUSINESS 3.1 Appointment of HRC Chairperson and Vice Chairperson (Held from the May HRC meeting) MOTION by Sweeney, seconded by Moffat, to elect Councilor Van Sickle as Chair. Motion carried. MOTION by Van Sickle, seconded by Moffat, to elect Councilor Sweeney as Vice Chair. Motion carried. Councilor Sweeney requested that the minutes reflect that this is an election, not an appointment. Mayor Paine left the meeting virtually at 5:25 pm. Garner Moffat left the meeting at 5:30 pm. 4 NEW BUSINESS 4.1 Approve updated job description for ESD Water Resources Specialist position MOTION by Sweeney, seconded by Johnson, to hold in committee until the August HRC meeting. Motion carried. 4.2 Request to fill ESD Water Resources Specialist position MOTION by Sweeney, seconded by Johnson. Motion carried. Motion carried. 4.5 Request to fill Police Officer position MOTION by Johnson, seconded by Sweeney. Motion carried. 4.6 Request to fill Light Equipment Operator position – Street Division MOTION by Johnson, seconded by Sweeney. Motion carried. 5 RECURRING BUSINESS 5.1 Receive and file: Monthly personnel report for May and June 2024. The committee received and filed. 5.2 Human Resources updates.
