Discussions/ issues: -Patrick Fleming, Emergency Prep/ Montgomery County; • shared recovery survey issues: concerns re transportation, resources • covid-19: pre-registration for 75 and over via county → not coordinated with hospitals, pharmacies, others. # info: 240-777-2982; • Montgomery County only gets 30% of available vaccines from the state! -Guest: Kathleen Bartels, Montgomery County Vaccine Hunters • Formed due to terrible problems finding vaccines: no internet, no phone #s available; complicated process via tech site, etc. • Mo Co has *** no single site for signing up→8 MoCo teachers—4 speak English; 4 speak Spanish.—purpose to help especially elderly get vaccine appointments. • https://www.facebook.com/vaccinehunters; vaccinehunters@gmail.com • Have spreadsheet showing vaccine openings. • Since vaccine amount very limited, the Vaccine Hunters are focusing on working with varied groups to get more and set up easy access/understanding of process in several languages -City Items: Ron Hardy • Exploring setting up of vaccine clinics in Takoma Park • Police items: thefts from cars; thefts of catalytic converters; some home robberies • Issue: providing before and after school childcare --Other: • Food distribution: many locations in area • Checklist flyers: continue distribution of paper flyers at food distribution sites, Sunday Farmers’ market, buildings that need more (Franklin?), etc. –note: electronic version sent to several TPkCouncil members, Md House representatives. Need to identify more locations. • Suggestions for future speakers: State Fire marshal; reps from Takoma Park volunteer Fire Dept; rep from Gallaudet Univ; • Shared many food distribution options via local schools.
