County and City Highlights
County libraries continue to distribute Covid Rapid test kits (over 500,000)
Additional kits have gone to persons in need at hard to reach locations and public
and private schools.
County libraries have also distributed over 350,000 KN95 masks.
The county continues PCR testing and results can be obtained in 24-48 hours
normally. The tests are molecular tests, also called PCR tests.
New Covid cases in the county have reduced significantly over the past two weeks,
City
Test Distribution was done at the city Library on Wednesday 19, 2022. The city had
2000 kits to distribute, afterwards leftover kits were distributed to high-rise
residences with seniors and people with disabilities.
The city still continues its mask mandate at city facilities
ONSITE COVID-19 TESTING EVERY WEDNESDAY IN FEBRUARY!
In partnership with Montgomery County, the City of Takoma Park is offering
COVID-19 PCR testing clinics every Wednesday in February.

(February 2, 9, 16, & 23)

Discussion for committee chairman, vice-chairman and secretary were discussed. Follow-up at
the February meeting with the City Clerk.
Outreach Methods for 2022
1. Radio show (WMOD) with Claudine Jim and Chris to assist
2. Monthly newsletter- Claudine Jim and Chris to assist
3. Flyers – all will work on distribution at events and places where people gather
4. Events that the EPC will participate with information
a. Celebrate Takoma
b. National Night Out
c. Folk festival
d. Street Festival
e. High rises
f. Farmer’s Market
5. Stop the Bleed classes will be assessed when CoVid numbers go down
6. Zoom/Presentations to special citizen groups all will look into finding different groups in
the city and work on presentations geared towards the group
7. Seasonal threats and resources coming up with specific flyers and information for the
web page
8. Consider Public Service announcements with City TV
9. Possible Weather-related seminar on Climate Change

1. Members to develop or find communication pathways in their neighborhoods. Claudine
will compile a list
2. Weather events preparedness
3. Review the Stormwater proposal provided by Chris and discuss at the February meeting
and look for updated flood plain plans
4. Discuss the city’s Emergency Operations Plan for revisions
