Meeting Minutes:
Agenda:
1. Assign Roles for Clothing Pickup and Picture Taking
2. Plan Introductory Meeting with New Mayor & City Council
3. Discuss Youth Forum
4. Check-in with Department Heads
Assigned Roles:
To ensure everyone gets involved in the clothing pickup and picture taking process, the
following tasks were assigned:
1. Leul & Joshua will be responsible for picking up coats and bringing them to the
shepherd’s table
Emma will take pictures of the donated clothes and share them on social media
Introductory Meeting with New Mayor & City Council:
We discussed the plan for an introductory meeting with the new Mayor and City Council.
It was agreed that the meeting will be held in late February, but the date and time are
still to be determined. If a consensus cannot be reached, the meeting will be held
virtually. The plan was approved unanimously. Leul sent out an email with the Google
form to determine the time and place of the meeting. The next step is for Julia or Leul to
email the city council and mayor to coordinate the meeting.
Youth Forum:
The group discussed the upcoming Youth Forum, which will take place at the Takoma
Park Community Center Auditorium. The word of the forum will be spread through local
schools, including Takoma Park ES, Piney Branch ES, Takoma Park MS, and
Montgomery Blair HS. The following individuals were identified as potential attendees:
Emma, Joshua, Leul, Nina, Leah, Nuhamin, and Kalib. To encourage participation, pizza
will be provided at the event. The forum will be an in person meeting.
Check-in with Department Heads:
The group checked in with each department head to ensure that everyone is making
progress and knows their role. The report was positive, and all departments are on
track.
