Meeting Chaired by: Mayor Kline Minutes by: Karen Morgan Call to Order: Mayor Kline called the Board of Control meeting to order on Monday, June 23, 2014 at 7:37 p.m. Item 1) Approval of Minutes: Mayor: I move to approve the minutes from the June 5, 2014 BOC meeting; seconded by Pres. of Coun. Vote to approve: 4/0. Item 2) Approval of a contract with Tallmadge Asphalt Paving for the city’s 2014 paving program in the amount of $777,075.55 as appropriated in the Road Improvement Fund by the adoption of Ord. 12-2014 Mayor: I move to approve the contract with Tallmadge Asphalt for the city’s 2014 paving program in the amount of $777,075.55; seconded by Law Dir. Discussion: The bid opening was on June 5th at 10 am and we received 5 bids with Tallmadge Asphalt submitting the lowest bid. The next bid up was Perrin at a price difference of $49,870.80. Tallmadge Asphalt has had our contract in the past and have done good work. They are a signatory to the JEDD but we did not have to use the 3% local preference because they were already the lowest bidder. Vote to approve: 4/0.
