CITY OF TALLMADGE BOARD OF CONTROL MEETING MINUTES September 22, 2022 8:00 p.m. Mayor’s Conference Room Members Present: Mayor Kline, Finance Director Mollie Gilbride, Law Director Megan Raber, Director of Public Service Mike Rorar, President of Council Dennis Loughry Meeting Chaired By: Mayor Kline Minutes: Tish Rowland Item 1: Call to Order and Approval of B.O.C. Minutes for September 8, 2022, meeting: The Mayor called the meeting to order at 8:19 p.m. Item 2: Adoption of Minutes: Dennis Loughry moved to approve the minutes of the September 8th B.O.C. meeting; seconded by Mollie Gilbride. Vote to approve: 5/0. Item 3: Consideration and approval of Change Order #6 to Sable Asphalt & Concrete for the final reconciliation of the purchase order for a decrease of $26,060.84. This will decrease the total contract to $299,210.16. The original project was approved by Council in Ord. 2022-3. Mollie Gilbride moved to approve; seconded by Dennis Loughry. Discussion: Rorar: This was for extra stone that they didn’t use. We put this in all of our contracts in case they hit a soft spot or another unknown, but that didn’t happen. Mayor: Sable did a good job? Rorar: Yes, I would hire them again. Vote to approve: 5/0. Item 4: Consideration and approval of Change Order #1 for the new entrance to the Howe Road Park for an increase of $4,800.00. This will increase the total contract to $278,783.00. The original project was approved by Council in Ord. 2022-57. Discussion: Rorar: As they were working, they hit an unknown culvert that wasn’t part of the job. We didn’t know it was there, so we have to cut a swale to replace the culvert. The culvert was inadequate and in poor condition so we couldn’t reuse it. The swale goes in its place; the hauling and the material were also needed. Mayor Kline moved to approve; seconded by Megan Raber. Vote to approve: 5/0.
