City of Tallmadge Board of Control Meeting Minutes March 14, 2024 7:00 p.m. Mayor’s Conference Room Members Present: Mayor Carol Kilway, Law Director Megan Raber, Finance Director Mollie Gilbride, Director of Public Service Mike Rorar, President of Council Adam Bozic Meeting Chaired By: Mayor Carol Kilway Minutes: Tish Rowland Item 1: Call to Order and Approval of B.O.C. Minutes for the February 22nd meeting: Mayor Kilway called the meeting to order at 8:30p.m. Item 2: Adoption of Minutes: Mollie Gilbride moved to adopt the Minutes of the February 22nd B.O.C. meeting; seconded by Megan Raber. Vote to approve: 5/0 Item 3: Authorizing the Mayor to enter into a multi-year asset management professional service contract with USG Water Solutions for renovation, maintenance, and inspection of the water tower on Alling Drive. (This is authorized in Ord. 2024-33) Discussion: Rorar: The city’s water tower needs some maintenance. The exterior will be pressure washed and painted, some hardware and a mixer will be installed, and some rods need to be tightened. This is a six-year contract for a total of $941,886. The first 3 years will each be $143,959, the last three years will each be $170,003. The fourth year they will begin interior of the tower, which is the reason for the increase. Gilbride: There is a year 7 in the amount of $32,465.00 in this contract. Gilbride: The total comes to $974,35.00. Raber: Only the first year is appropriated so each year the amount will have to be approved. Mayor: Due to the importance of this asset, I think the additional money is ok. Bozic: Yes, and it’s still within the threshold. Adam Bozic moved to approve; seconded by Megan Raber. Vote to approve: 5/0 Additional Items: None Item 9: Adjournment: Megan Raber moved to adjourn; seconded by Mollie Gilbride. Vote to adjourn: 5/0 The meeting was adjourned at 8:35pm
