MINUTES OF THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING October 26, 2015 - 3:30 P.M. Members Present: Chairman Jan Naso Commissioner Tom Kot Non-Members Director of Law Megan Raber Present: ______________________________________________________________________________ The October 26, 2015 Civil Service Commission meeting was called to order. Minutes of the October 19, 2015 meeting were approved as published. Chairman Naso stated that the Head Custodian Test is scheduled for November 4, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at McCombs Educational Center; three applications have been received so far. Deadline to file an application is 3:00 p.m. October 29, 2015. The test for Cook/Food Service Worker is being advertised in the Akron Beacon Journal and the Record Publishing newspapers on October 18, October 25 and November 1, 2015. Director of Law Megan Raber stated that she heard from one of the Police Officers that the Chief may be requesting another Police Test. Chairman Naso asked Mrs. Raber if anything had been done regarding the Police Sergeant’s position – she answered that she did not know. Mr. Naso stated that the job description for the Police Captain’s position has been completed and that the posting has been approved by the Police Chief and the Director of Law. A motion was made and passed to accept the posting for Police Captain so that it can be posted. Mr. Naso stated that the assessment center will take place on November 10 here in the City Building. Knowing that there are only two candidates interested, time slots of 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. have been scheduled with Mrs. Ramsey for the assessment center. Commissioner Kot asked about the Records Clerk position at the Police Department. Chairman Naso answered that no appointments have been made and that we are expecting to give a test for this position after the first of the year. Next meeting will be November 9, 2015.
