The July 20, 2022 Civil Service Commission meeting was called to order. Minutes of the July
13, 2022 meeting were approved as published.
Chairman Naso stated that the interviews for six Full-Time Technician I have been completed and
the list is in your packet. So I will move to certify the Technician I Eligibility List. Motion
was seconded and passed with no discussion. After Mr. Rorar was given the eligibility list, he
said that he appreciated the help from the Commission with sitting in on the interviews. We had
two good candidates. It’s a tedious process hiring anyone right now. I’ve never seen anything
like it.
Mr. Naso: Also in your packet is a list of eight people that have been interviewed for the position
of Assistant Road Superintendent. We are still looking for other candidates. Let us know when
you are ready to offer someone the job so that we can certify the list.
Mr. Naso also explained to Mr. Bollas how the testing process was followed prior to temporarily
doing away with the written format and making use of the interview process. There is no
deadline to apply with the interview process. Commissioner Kot reiterated that all the candidates
are asked the same questions. Mr. Naso stated that we have copies of those questions in our files
and complimented Mr. Stineman, the Water Superintendent on the great job he did on the
interviews.
Mr. Naso stated the test consultants, Ramsey & Associates who normally conduct our assessment
centers is now only doing entrance exams, no assessment centers. Dr. Cooper is considering
other companies to do the assessment center. Your packets contain copies of the updated
summaries of the process. One change has been made to number 5: posting from three weeks to
four weeks. Mayor Kline interjected that it is the opposite: from four weeks to three weeks. Any
other changes will be emailed to you. I have some questions concerning polygraphs, physical
fitness rating…
