Communications from the Chairman. Chairman Higgins has worked with Attorney August and drafted Taunton Public Hearing for Verizon Contract Renewal notice. 1. Chairman Higgins has posted the Taunton Public Hearing for Verizon Contract Renewal at City Hall. 2. Chairman Higgins reported Attorney August has informed Verizon Legal of the Ascertainment Hearing 3. The City of Taunton is now officially in the Ascertainment Window for negotiating the renewal the Verizon Cable Franchise Contract 4. Chairman Higgins reported Attorney August and the Law Department agreed on a cap figure 5. Chairman Higgins noted the Legal Notice for Verizon Hearing to Taunton Daily Gazette will post on Tuesday March 7,2023 II. NEW PROPOSED LEGISLATION AT THE MASSACHUESETTS STATE HOUSE 1. Commissioner George Mendros to update on any advancement from the office of State Senator Jason Lewis’ sponsored S.2200 An Act Relative to Digital Entertainment On Public Rights Of Way: Referred to: Joint Committee On Telecommunication, Utilities And Energy to determine if there has been any progress. 2. Commissioner Dan Rapoza to report on Representative Carol Doherty’s involvement as a Petitioner of Bill H.3152 An Act To Modernize Participation in Public Meeting Sponsored by Denise Garlick of Needham. An effort to create Hybrid participation at Public Meetings and report the Bills status back to the committee 3. The TCCAC is still in need of a fifth Commissioner to fully staff the Commission! IV.
