RE: Appointment of Assistant City Auditor
As you are aware, I was recently appointed as the new City Auditor. This promotion created
a vacancy in the Assistant City Auditor position. The Assistant City Auditor position was
posted internally and externally. Interviews were conducted with three internal candidates.
In the end, it was determined that Alyssa Berthiaume was the best choice to fill the Assistant
City Auditor position.
Currently a Principal Clerk in the Auditor's Office, Mrs. Berthiaume has a firm grasp on the
day-to-day operations of the office. She has shown herself to be a quick learner, with a
strong attention to detail. She has reconciliation experience, including monthly account
auditing. Her work history as an assistant bank manager proves she has the mettle and
fortitude to be a strong leader. In the end, Mrs. Berthiaume possesses the skills and work
ethic that will make her a success in this new role.
As I look to move the office toward the future, she will be an excellent partner in achieving
that goal.
Therefore, I respectfully request that the Council approve the appointment of Alyssa
Berthiaume to the position of Assistant City Auditor.
Thank you for your time and consideration of this matter.
Sincere~~

Re: Disciplinary Hearing Date - Taunton Fire Department - Civil Service - Massachusetts General Laws
Chapter 31 §41-45.
Dear Mayor O'Connell , Council President Duarte and Members of the Municipal Council:
This office has been contacted by Fire Chief Timothy J. Bradshaw who is requesting that the
appointing authority hold a disciplinary hearing for an employee of the Fire Department to consider the
termination of that employee's employment.
Having reviewed all the materials we agree that a hearing should be set and would like to set that
hearing for Tuesday, January 25, 2022 before the Committee of the Council as a Whole. If the
Committee would prefer to have the hearing on a separate night then the date would have to be some
time after January 25, 2022 as soon as possible.
This matter had previously been presented for hearing and was cancelled because we thought
we had resolved the issue but that resolution did not come to fruition .
Please have this placed on the agenda for the Municipal Council meeting of January 18, 2022 to
determine a date for the hearing . Once that hearing date has been set proper notices will be sent
pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 31.
