Registrar of Voters Board Meeting Minutes Date and Time: Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. Place: Temporary City Hall 141 Oak Street, Maxham School Registrar of Voters Office, Room #4 Taunton, MA 02780 Attendees:  Bill Tranter, Chairman - absent  Carol Welch  Roger Hoffmann  Elizabeth Pottier Meeting was called to order at 5:00pm Meeting minutes for June 19th and June 26th - Motion to approve minutes as present, motion carried 3-0. Old Business Board request of City Engineer - At the time of the Board meeting, the City Engineer has not received a response from the Secretary of State’s office regarding redistricting. See ROV Board Meeting minutes of 6/19/18 for details. New Business Voucher Review -- Motion to accept the vouchers as presented, motion carried 3-0. 2018 Confirmation Cards – Report that 2018 Confirmation Cards have been sent to all inactive voters. State Automatic Voter Registration Law – Report on new law effective January 1, 2020 Job description – Sr. Clerk - Consideration of change from Sr. Clerk to Principal Clerk - Per HR, the ROV Board must write a letter to the Mayor describing why the promotion is requested and identify what additional job duties will be performed - Per the HR request, the Board will review the current Sr. Clerk job description, and the Assistant to the Board job description. Since the Chairman is not present to discuss the matter, the Board will undertake this discussion in detail at the next meeting. - The Board requested an official HR copy of the Sr. Clerk’s job description and the Assistant to the Board job description for review at the next meeting The next meeting will be held September 18, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. The meeting adjourned at 5:45p.m.
