Registrar of Voters Board Meeting Minutes Date and Time: Tuesday, January 21, 2020 Place: Temporary City Hall 141 Oak Street, Maxham School Registrar of Voters Office, Room #4 Taunton, MA 02780 Attendees:  Roger Hoffmann  James Clasby  Elizabeth Pottier  Carol Welch Meeting was called to order at 5:00 pm Meeting minutes for November 19, 2019, motion to accept the minutes carried 4-0. Vouchers reviewed and motion to approve carried 4-0. NEW BUSINESS Election date Notices o Notices to each polling location with the scheduled election dates will be mailed this week o Notices to each poling location announcing the special election dates needed to replace the MA State Representative seat vacated by Shauna O’Connell. (Note: the March 3, 2020 special election is scheduled to take place the same day as the State-wide primary (President, Congressional seats, etc.) o Motion to post the election cycle in the newspaper, motion carried 4-0. Budget discussion o Board members discussed expected changes to the FY21 budget. o FY20 had three election cycles therefore the budget will decrease o Motion to accept the preliminary budget, motion carried 4-0. OLD BUSINESS o The ROV Board sent a letter to City Council requesting the City Clerk’s office to send death notices routinely throughout the calendar year. Currently, the ROV receives the list once per year. o The City Clerk verified that death notices will be sent to the ROV office. The City Clerk, in attendance, confirmed the departments will work together to determine a process and time. The meeting adjourned at 6:00 pm Next meeting scheduled for February 18, 2020 at 5pm.
