ELECTION DEPARTMENT MEETING MINUTES Date and Time: Tuesday, December 13, 2022, 3:00 PM Place: City Hall, 15 Summer Street 2nd Floor Conference Room Attendees:  Dan Barbour  Jason Roomes  Carol Welch  Frank Biedak  Pamela Menconi The meeting was called to order at 3:00 PM. Commissioner Welsh a motion to accept the minutes from the November 15, 2022. So voted unanimously. COMMUNITY INPUT None NEW BUSINESS-Funding Reimbursement The Director stated that surveys would be distributed in January to all Election officials in Massachusetts to obtain funding reimbursement from State for the past election cycle. Information available was preliminary in nature but the Director wanted to share this information with the Commission. OLD BUSINESS- Commissioner Biedak opened a discussion about the protocol and handling of ballots that are received by voters who have passed. The Director gave a lengthy explanation of the process in place to handle deceased voters and what measures are taken to ensure that the voting list is accurate. The Director also outlined the steps in place to determine if a ballot should be counted when dealing with vote by mail and deceased voters. Commissioner Biedak commended the office for having a thorough system in place. Next Meeting date: January 17, 2023 Meeting adjourned at 3:07 pm Respectfully submitted, Carol Welch, Secretary
