Minutes of May 15, 2024 and June 5,2024 were approved with corrections on May 15 Larry - Silvia was absent and correct spelling of Stantec. 2. Whittenton Urban Renewal Plan a) It was stated the URP has not progressed. There is a need to revise the contract between the City of Taunton, TRA and Stantec. Further there is a problem with the MEPA portion of the URP. New guidelines were added during the URP development. The initial additional cost was $39,000 and then to the 80,000 range. An agreement was reached to undertake the MEPA requirement for $60,000. OECD will pay $39,000 and the TRA $21,000. Stantec and the City are looking into how they can move forward without violating the requirement to go out for bid. b) Larry at this time went over the TRA financial balance. As of May 31, 2024- Bank Account $78,789.67 Known obligations: Stantec $25,000 (current contract) - John DeSousa $15,000 - Miscellaneous $2,000 $3,000 - - Potential MEPA $21,000 - Larry asked that a treasurer report be added to the agenda. c) Dennis went over the URP process. 3. Harvey Street Property Dennis reported that John DeSousa tried several times to get a second lot. There is a great deal of wetlands on the site. After several attempts John can only come up with one lot. A presentation will be made in July or August. It was requested that the survey plan be sent to the members prior to the meeting. 4. TRA OECD Programs - Jay indicated he will bring this up at a tiature meeting. 5. Election of Officers A lengthy discussion was held. It was agreed that the election will take place at the July meeting. 6. Other Business Jay reviewed applications submitted to Mass Development. Over 10 applications were forwarded to the City of Taunton. Jay indicated Mass Development strongly pushing for housing projects. 7. Next Meeting It was agreed to meet on July 31, 2024 at 4:00 pm at City Hall. 8. Adjournment Meeting adjourned at 4:39 pm.
