TENAFLY PUBLIC LIBRARY MINUTES OF THE BOARD MEETING March 7, 2023 Special Meeting Called The Board of Trustees of the Tenafly Public Library met on March 7, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at the Library for a special Board meeting. Board Members Present: President Kathleen Cook, Vice President Soon Juhng, Secretary/Treasurer Martin Gilbert, Teresa Austin, David DiGregorio, Julie Lev, Nicole Motz and Elizabeth Warms. Staff Present: Library Director Julie Marallo and Administrative Assistant Ann Marie Connolly. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. Julie Marallo reported that notices of the meeting had been posted and sent to the media. The meeting was called to discuss the library’s roof repair project. The Borough has requested that the library use its funds ($250,000.) to pay half of the proposed cost of $500,000 to replace the library roof. The Library previously informed the Tenafly Borough Council that the Library intended to contribute to the library roof repair project provided that the Board is given satisfactory information on the scope, quality, specifications, and duration of the project. The Library’s attorney, Eric Steinberg, Esq. of the law firm Eastwood, Scandariato & Steinberg, has strongly advised that the library retain its own engineer to verify the cost of the library’s portion of the roof. After discussion the Board approved the following resolution: BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT: The Board of Trustees of the Free Public Library of the Borough of Tenafly, in the County of Bergen and State of New Jersey, will hire an engineer to establish the full cost of replacing the library roof.
