TENAFLY PUBLIC LIBRARY MINUTES OF THE BOARD MEETING June 12, 2023 The Board of Trustees of the Tenafly Public Library met on June 12, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at the Library for its regular Board meeting. Board Members Present: President Kathleen Cook, Vice President Soon Juhng, Secretary/Treasurer Martin Gilbert, Julie Lev, Nicole Motz and Elizabeth Warms. Absent: David DiGregorio and Teresa Austin. Staff Present: Library Director Julie Marallo and Administrative Assistant Ann Marie Connolly. The meeting was called to order at 7:23 p.m. Julie Marallo reported that notices of the meeting had been posted and sent to the media. Minutes Board members approved the Minutes of the regular Board meeting of May 8, 2023. Moved by: Elizabeth Warms. Seconded by: Soon Juhng. Unanimously approved. Treasurer’s Report Martin Gilbert reviewed with the Board the Library’s financial statements of May 2023. He noted that he had examined and approved the statements and reported that they were current and accurate. A motion was made to approve the financial reports. Moved by: Elizabeth Warms. Seconded by: Soon Juhng. Unanimously approved. Correspondence None Director’s Report The restoration of the Children’s picture book room is completed. Elizabeth Warms thanked Julie Marallo and the staff for their efforts to get the room done in time for the start of the summer reading program. On the June 13, 2023 Borough Council Meeting Agenda, Resolution R23-236 was listed to approve professional engineering services for the library roof replacement project. President’s Report Kathleen Cook thanked the Board members and the Friends of the Library for their dedication to the roof project and attendance at the Borough Council meetings to demand action. New Business None Report from Mayor’s Alternate Nicole Motz will speak with Mayor Zinna and inform the Board regarding the resolution to hire an engineer.
