Public Hearing House Bill 581

Town of Thunderbolt Public Hearing, February 19, 2025 Mayor Williams called the meeting to order Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at 6:00PM. Those in attendance were David Crenshaw, Lawrence Ward, Dr. Edward Drohan, James Lavin and Brooks Barbaree. Also in attendance were Charles Barrow, Town Attorney; Matthew Walker, Town Administrator; and Jan LeViner, Town Clerk. Stella Lavin delivered the invocation followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Mayor Williams opened the Public Hearing. Mayor Williams explained House Bill 581 as it relates to Stephens Day and ad valorem property tax bills. He stated what is before Mayor and Council tonight is to discuss options and whether to opt-out or opt-in of the House Bill. There was no public input. Mayor Williams closed the Public Hearing. Council Member Crenshaw made a motion to adjourn. Council Member Ward seconded. Vote was unanimous to approve, 5-0.
