MINUTES OF SPECIAL BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS MEETING CITY OF TOMBALL, TEXAS THURSDAY, JULY 17, 2014 6:30 P.M. 1.0 Call to Order at 6:30 p.m. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Ford. Other members present were: Board Member Hemby Board Member Gray Board Member Tynes Alternate Board Member Pilgrim Board Member Wolfe – Excused Absence Others present: Community Development Director – Craig Meyers City Engineer – Lori Lakatos City Planner – Rebeca Guerra City Attorney – Loren Smith Senior Administrative Assistant – Brandy Harbolt City Intern – Rachel Lazo 2.0 No Public Comments were received. 3.0 Reports or Announcements: • Community Development Director, Craig Meyers announced the last meeting for Rebeca Guerra and Brandy Harbolt due to resignation, thanking them for their service to the City of Tomball. 4.0 Motion was made by Board Member Tynes to Approve the Minutes of the Special Board of Adjustments Meeting of April 10, 2014; second by Alternate Board Member Pilgrim. Motion carried unanimously. 5.0 New Business: 5.1 Consideration to approve BOA Case P14-100: Request by Glenn McDowell on behalf of Big Diamond LLC for a Special Exception from Section 39.3(e)(1) of the City of Tomball’s Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance to allow three parking lot entrances to be 45 feet in width where a maximum of 40 feet in width is required. The Minutes Special Board of Adjustments Meeting July 17, 2014 Page 2 of 2 project site is approximately 6.36 acres, generally located between SH 249 Business and SH 249 Bypass, north of Holderrieth Road, is zoned Commercial District, and is legally described as Lots 1, 2, and 3, Block 1, Replat of The Point. Rachel Lazo, City Intern presented the staff report. Applicant, Glenn McDowell spoke on behalf of the request. The Public Hearing was opened by Chairman Ford at 6:39 p.m. Bruce Glanville, owner of National Transmission Center located at 27202 Tomball Parkway spoke in favor of the request. Hearing no additional comments, the Public Hearing was closed at 6:40 p.m. Motion was made by Board Member Hemby to approve BOA Case P14-100; second by Board Member Tynes. Motion carried; 5 votes Aye, 0 votes Nay. 6.0 Motion was made by Board Member Tynes to adjourn; second by Board Member Hemby. Motion carried unanimously. Notice is hereby given of a meeting of the Board of Adjustments, to be held on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 6:30 p.m., at City Hall, 401 Market Street, Tomball, Texas 77375, for the purpose of considering the following agenda items. All agenda items are subject to action.
