SPECIAL BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS MEETING
CITY OF TOMBALL, TEXAS
THURSDAY, MARCH 14, 2019
6:00 P.M.
1.0 The meeting was Called to Order by Chair Billy Hemby at 6:13 p.m. Other members
present were:
Board member Tina Roquemore
Board member Sue Harris
Board member Jarmon Wolfe
Alternate Board member Cindy Phillips
Board member April Gray – Absent
Others present:
Loren Smith – City Attorney
Amelia Lindley – City Planner
2.0 No Public Comments were received.
3.0 Reports and Announcements
• Amelia Lindley, City Planner, announced there will not be a Special Board of
Adjustments meeting in April.
4.0 Motion was made by Board member Roquemore, second by Board member Phillips, to
approve the Minutes of Special Board of Adjustments Meeting of February 14, 2019.
Motion carried unanimously.
5.0 New Business:
5.1 Consideration to approve BOA Case P19-016: Request by John Ridington, for a
variance from Section 50-77(d)(2) (Size of yards) to allow a front yard setback to
be 15’ where a minimum of 35’ is required. The project site is approximately
0.4582 acres, legally described as Tracts 25A-1 & 25A-2 Abstract 34 J House,
within the City of Tomball, Harris County, Texas, generally located at the
southeast corner of Main Street and Alma Street, at 1311 West Main Street, and is
zoned Commercial District.

The Public Hearing on BOA Case P19-016 was opened by Chair Hemby at 6:15
p.m.
Amelia Lindley, City Planner, presented the case and recommendation of
approval.
John Ridington, (1826 Branch Hill Drive, Pearland, Texas) applicant, spoke on
behalf of the request.
Keith Mohammad, Take 5 Oil Change Construction Manager, spoke in support of
the request.
Hearing no additional comments, the Public Hearing was closed at 6:20 p.m.
Motion was made by Board member Wolfe, second by Board member Harris, to
approve BOA Case P19-016.
Motion carried unanimously.
6.0 Motion was made by Board member Roquemore, second by Board member Phillips, to
adjourn.
Motion carried unanimously.
The meeting adjourned at 6:23 p.m.

Notice is hereby given of a meeting of the Board of Adjustments, to be held on Thursday,
March 14, 2019 at 6:00 p.m., at City Hall, 401 Market Street, Tomball, Texas 77375, for the
purpose of considering the following agenda items. All agenda items are subject to action. The
Board of Adjustments reserve the right to meet in a closed session for consultation with
attorney on any agenda item should the need arise and if applicable pursuant to authorization
by Title 5, Chapter 551, of the Texas Government Code.
1.0 Call to Order
2.0 Public Comments and Receipt of Petitions (At this time, anyone will be allowed to speak on
any matter other than personnel matters or matters under litigation, for length of time not to
exceed three minutes. No Board discussion or action may take place on a matter until such
