SPECIAL BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS MEETING
CITY OF TOMBALL, TEXAS
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2020
6:00 P.M.
1.0 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Billy Hemby at 6:00 p.m. Other members present
were:
Board Member Jarmon Wolfe
Board Member Christine Roquemore
Board Member April Gray
Board Member Susan Harris
Others present:
Craig Meyers - Community Development Director
Amelia Lindley - City Planner
Wesley Stolz - City Engineer
Loren Smith – City Attorney
2.0 No Public Comments were received
3.0 Reports and Announcements
Craig Meyers, Community Development Director, announced the next meeting scheduled
for Thursday, March 12, 2020 will have two cases on the agenda.
4.0 Motion was made by Board Member Harris, second by Board Member Gray, to approve the
Minutes of Special Board of Adjustments Meeting of January 9, 2020.
Motion carried unanimously.
5.0 New Business:
5.1 Consideration to approve BOA Case P19-186: Request by Lance Langenhoven, for a
special exception from Section 50-112 (c) of the Code of Ordinances to allow no
concrete/asphalt and no curb for a proposed mini warehouse/self-storage facility. The
project site is approximately 5.858 acres, generally located on the north side of East
Hufsmith at Hospital Road at 419 East Hufsmith, within the City of Tomball, Harris
County, Texas, is zoned General Retail and legally described as Lot 61 Block 1
Abandoned Animal Rescue Replat.
The Public Hearing was opened by Chair Hemby at 6:02 p.m.

Amelia Lindley, City Planner, presented the case and recommendation.
Applicant, Lance Langenhoven (70 W. Summer Storm Circle, The Woodlands, TX
77381) spoke on behalf of the case.
Barbara Tague (503 Inwood Street, Tomball, TX 77375) spoke in opposition of the case.
Hearing no additional comments, the Public Hearing was closed at 6:14 p.m.
Motion was made by Board Member Wolfe, second by Board Member Harris to approve
BOA Case P19-186, with the recommended condition by City Staff that the driveway be
concrete or asphalt as indicated on the concept plan. Motion was amended to include the
triangle portion of the site as shown on the concept plan.
Vote was as follows:

Board Member Harris Nay
Motion Carried; 4 votes Aye, 1 vote Nay.
6.0 Motion was made by Board Member Roquemore, second by Board Member Gray, to adjourn.
Motion carried unanimously.
The meeting adjourned at 6:26 p.m.

Notice is hereby given of a meeting of the Board of Adjustments, to be held on Thursday,
February 13, 2020 at 6:00 p.m., at City Hall, 401 Market Street, Tomball, Texas 77375, for the
purpose of considering the following agenda items. All agenda items are subject to action. The
Board of Adjustments reserve the right to meet in a closed session for consultation with
attorney on any agenda item should the need arise and if applicable pursuant to authorization
by Title 5, Chapter 551, of the Texas Government Code.
1.0 Call to Order
2.0 Public Comments and Receipt of Petitions (At this time, anyone will be allowed to speak on
any matter other than personnel matters or matters under litigation, for length of time not to
exceed three minutes. No Board discussion or action may take place on a matter until such
matter has been placed on an agenda and posted in accordance with law.)
