MINUTES OF REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING CITY OF TOMBALL, TEXAS MONDAY, MARCH 4, 2013 6:00 P.M. 1.0 Call to Order The Council meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Mayor Gretchen Fagan. Other members present were: Councilman Hudgens Councilman Brown Councilman Dodson Councilman Stoll Councilmember absent: Councilman Townsend – Excused Absence Others present: City Manager – George Shackelford Assistant City Manager – Christal Weber City Secretary – Doris Speer City Attorney – Loren B. S. and Texas Flags ● Led by Cole Machalek, Vice President, Tomball High School Student Council 4.0 The following public comments were received: Rick Grassi - Requested Council assistance in resolving platting 1820 S. Cherry dilemma regarding City-required dedication of 15- Tomball, 77375 feet of road right-of-way on Zion Road. Tim Miller - Extended invitation to Mueller’s 25th Annual 16416 Surrey Lane Barbeque Cook-off on April 20, “Patriots & Stagecoach, 77355 Heroes”. 5.0 Reports and Announcements: ● Farmers Market – 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. ● March 9, 2013 – 2nd Saturday at the Depot – 5:00 p.m. ● March 16, 2013 – Tomball Honky Tonk Music Festival – 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. ● March 18, 2013 – Second Public Hearing regarding Tomball’s Juvenile Curfew Ordinance ● March 18, 2013 – Candidate Orientation has been canceled. ● March 22-24, 2013 – German Heritage Festival – Friday, 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.; Saturday, 10:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m.; and Sunday, 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. ● April 13, 2013 – 5th Annual City of Tomball Bunny Run 5K and Kids 1K – 9:00 a.m. at the Depot ● April 21-27, 2013 – Annual Tomball Clean-up Week – 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. daily ● April 27, 2013 – Annual Tomball Recycle and E-Waste Event ● Reports by City staff and members of council about items of community interest on which no action will be taken: ● Mayor Fagan administered the Oath of Office to new City of Tomball Police Officer Matt Maglitto 6.0 Motion was made by Councilman Stoll, second by Councilman Dodson, to approve the Minutes of the February 18, 2013 Special Tomball City Council and Tomball Economic Development Corporation Meeting and the February 18, 2013 Regular City Council Meeting. Motion carried unanimously. Minutes Regular City Council Meeting March 4, 2013 Page 3 of 3 7.0 New Business: 7.1 Glenn Windsor and Sara Roberts, Weaver, LLP, presented the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for Fiscal Year Ending September 30, 2012. Motion was made by Councilman Brown, second by Councilman Stoll, to accept the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for Fiscal Year Ending September 30, 2012, as presented by the CPA firm of Weaver, LLP. Motion carried unanimously. 7.2 Motion was made by Councilman Stoll, second by Councilman Brown, to approve the request by the Tomball Lions Club for City Support and Approval of Road Closures for the 19th Annual Tomball Lions Club Car Show, to be held at Depot Plaza on Sunday, April 21, 2013. Motion carried unanimously. 7.3 Mayor Fagan opened the Public Hearing at 6:27 p.m. to consider the City of Tomball’s Juvenile Curfew Ordinance to Determine the Need to Re-adopt, Abolish, Continue or Modify the Ordinance. Receiving no public comments, Mayor Fagan closed the public hearing at 6:27 p.m. 8.0 Motion was made by Councilman Brown, second by Councilman Stoll, to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.
