MINUTES OF SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING CITY OF TOMBALL, TEXAS TUESDAY, AUGUST 17, 2010 4:00 P.M. 1.0 Call to Order The meeting was called to order by Mayor Gretchen Fagan. Other members present were: Councilman Stoll Councilman Webb Councilman Townsend Councilman Quinn Council-Elect Dodson Others present: City Manager – George Shackelford Assistant City Manager – Christal Kliewer City Secretary – Doris Speer Police Chief – Robert Hauck Assistant to City Manager – Shawn Cox 2.0 Canvass of Election Escrutinio de la Elección Kiểm Phiếu của Cuộc Bầu Cử The Canvass of the August 14, 2010 Special Election was presented by Mary Coats, Election Judge. El escrutinio del la elección del 14 de agosto de 2010 fue presentado por Mary Coats, Juez Electoral. Trưởng ban Bầu Cử Mary Coats trình bày Kết Quả Kiểm Phiếu của Cuộc Bầu Cử Đặc Biệt ngày 14 tháng Tám 2010. 2.1 Motion was made by Councilman Townsend, second by Councilman Stoll, to Adopt Resolution No. 2010-18, a Resolution and Order Canvassing the Returns and Declaring the Results of the Special Election Held on August 14, 2010. Fue presentada una moción por el Concejal Townsend, secundada por el Concejal Stoll, para adoptar la Resolución Nro. 2010-18, una Resolución y Orden de Escrutinio y  Minutes Special City Council Meeting August 17, 2010 Page 2 of 3 Declaración de Resultados de la Elección Especial Celebrada el 14 de agosto de 2010. Nghị Viên Townsend, với sự giúp đỡ của Nghị Viên Stoll, đã đề nghị thông qua Nghị Quyết Số 2010-08, một Nghị Quyết và Lệnh Yêu Cầu Kiểm Phiếu và Tuyên Bố Kết Quả của Cuộc Bầu Cử Đặc Biệt tổ chức ngày 14 tháng Tám, 2010. Motion carried unanimously. Moción aceptada por unanimidad. Kiến nghị được nhất trí thông qua. 2.2 The Oath of Office was administered by Mayor Fagan to Preston L. Dodson as the newly elected Councilman, Position 5. El juramento al cargo fue administrado por la Alcaldesa Gretchen Fagan a Preston L. Dodson como el nuevo Concejal electo para la Posición 5. Ông Preston L. Dodson đã được Tuyên Thệ Nhậm Chức trước sự chứng kiến của Thị Trưởng Fagan, trở thành Nghị Viên mới được bầu, Vị Trí 5. 2.3 Councilman Stoll nominated David Quinn as Mayor Pro-Tem, in Accordance with Section 6.08 of the City of Tomball Home Rule Charter. Nominations ceased. Motion was made by Councilman Stoll, second by Councilman Townsend, to elect David Quinn as Mayor Pro Tem and vote was as follows: Councilman Quinn Aye Councilman Stoll Aye Councilman Brown Aye Councilman Townsend Aye Councilman Dodson Aye Councilman David Quinn was elected Mayor Pro-Tem. El Concejal Stoll nominó a David Quinn como Alcalde Interino, en conformidad con la Sección 6.08 da la Carta Orgánica de Gobierno Local de la Ciudad de Tomball. Las nominaciones cesaron. Nghị Viên Stoll, cùng với nghị viên Towsend, đã đề nghị bầu chọn ông David Quinn làm Thị Trưởng Tạm Thời và số phiếu bầu như sau: Thành viên hội đồng Quinn Thuận Thành viên hội đồng Stoll Thuận Thành viên hội đồng Brown Thuận Thành viên hội đồng Townsend Thuận Thành viên hội đồng Dodson Thuận Nghị viên David Quinn được bầu làm Quyền Thị Trưởng. 3.0 Motion was made by Councilman Townsend, second by Councilman Stoll, to adjourn.
