MINUTES OF SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING CITY OF TOMBALL, TEXAS MONDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2011 6:00 P.M. 1.0 Call to Order The Council meeting was called to order by Mayor Gretchen Fagan. (Every Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at the Depot) ● Reports by City staff and members of Council about items of community interest on which no action will be taken 4.0 Old Business: 4.1 Mayor Fagan opened the Public Hearing on Tax Rate Increase at 6:05 p.m.; the following public comment was received: Jodye Sortino - Requested that her support for the proposed tax (via telephone, October 10, increase be read into the record. 2011; 4:00 p.m.) No additional public comments being received, Mayor Fagan closed the public hearing at 6:06 p.m. 4.2 Mayor Fagan announced that the Vote on Tax Rate will be held on October 17, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. and October 24, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. 4.3 Randy Parr presented the proposed Contract. Motion was made by Councilman Hudgens, second by Councilman Dodson, to approve a Personal Services Contract, in an amount not to exceed $8,000, with Baker Botts, LLP for the Creation of a Pension Program for the Volunteer Firefighters of the Tomball Fire Department and Authorize the City Manager to Execute the Engagement Letter Motion carried unanimously.  Minutes Special City Council Meeting October 10, 2011 Page 3 of 3 5.0 New Business: 5.1 David Kauffman presented the Proposal. Motion was made by Councilman Hudgens, second by Councilman Dodson, to approve the Job Order Proposal Submitted by KBR for the Purpose of Converting Customer Water Service Line Connections to The City’s New Water Mains in the Downtown Area, for a Not-to-Exceed Cost of $50,000.00. Motion carried unanimously. 6.0 Motion was made by Councilman Brown, second by Councilman Stoll, to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously. Meeting adjourned.
