Thanked all members of Council for hiring him and enjoyed serving all members on Council and wished everyone a happy holiday. 3. Clerk of Council, Stanislav Beresford a. Wished everyone, happy holidays’. Thanked all members of Council for hiring him and enjoyed serving for Mr. Agee and Ms. Harris, looks forward to serving Mr. Croucher and Mr. Nichols. 4. City Manager, Marcos Nichols a. Appreciates working for Council stated that they have gone through a lot the last four years and the support that Council has given for Mr. Nichols and staff. Noted that earlier during the week, submitted for the state capital budget request for the pedestrian bridge proposal over at Community Park. Mr. Nichols is asking the state for help regarding this project, this project is to install a bridge to cross into the wooded area which will be used for recreational uses. AUDIENCE OF COUNCIL Ms. Harris- Ms. Harris opened up with feeling honored to serve on City Council. Ms. Harris stated that the city has the best city staff and the best people in the positions that they are in. Ms. Harris appreciates everyone for the work that they do and appreciates all the time and effort everyone makes. Ms. Harris looks forward to Mr. Nichols being back on Council and what Mr. Croucher has in store for the city of Trenton. Ms. Harris thanked the Fire Chief and police department for the Christmas lights contest and thanked the city attorney for teaching the local boy scouts about the law. Ms. Combs- Thanked Ms. Harris and Mr. Agee, Ms. Combs appreciates working with them and stated they all done so much working together. Ms. Combs congratulated everyone that took their oaths during the evening. Ms. Combs concluded by wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. City of Trenton REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES December 21st, 2023 - 7:30 p.m. Mr. Perry – Thanked Ms. Harris and Mr. Agee for their time and dedication on City Council. Mr. Perry welcomed Mr. Croucher and Mr. Nichols and concluded by wishing everyone a happy holidays. Mr. Agee – Opened up with running for council was one his best decisions. On September 20th, 2012, in the Council chambers his uncle Bruce Agee retired, that was when Mr. Agee started to show some interest in running for Council. Mr. Agee fell in love with how he can help the people that are living in the city of Trenton and was extremely honored to serve them. Mr. Agee stated that everyone on Council has accomplished a lot and its tough for him to leave. Mr. Agee was glad to see other citizens wanting to run for city council because that makes for a strong community. Mr. Agee said that one of the best things during his four years on council was getting married on October 7th to his wife, Mr. Agee followed up by agreeing with Ms. Harris that the staff is excellent and appreciates what they do for the city especially with the Veterans memorial project. Mr. Agee congratulated Vice-Mayor Perry on being Mayor and Mr. Woodrey on being Vice Mayor. Mr. Agee concluded by wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and he loves his wife Ashley and daughter Ella. Ms. Montgomery – Ms. Montgomery opened when she first ran on city council was due to the man on high. This was one of the reasons why Ms. Montgomery ran for council was due to the street. Ms. Montgomery thanked Mr. Agee and Ms. Harris for being a part of city council. Ms. Montgomery was impressed with everyone serving on city council from Mr. Agee and Vice Mayor-Perry who were both of her students to being impressed with Ms. Harris and how she is bold on city council. Ms. Montgomery added that she voted for everyone to be on city council and is impressed with what everyone does for the city from council to staff to the police department to the fire department. Ms. Montgomery concluded by being appreciative with the blessings that the lord has given to council and to the city, to the flag and is proud of everyone and the city of Trenton. Vice-Mayor Perry – Vice-Mayor Perry is honored to have worked alongside with Mr. Agee and Ms. Harris. Vice-Mayor Perry thanked the people that he has served alongside him in the past from Jennifer Hobbs, Ryan Montgomery and Dick Miller. Vice-Mayor welcomed Mr. Croucher and Mr. Nichols to Council and thanked his wife, mother and father. Vice-Mayor Perry spoke to Mayor Woodrey saying there is no better person being made and all things they have done together, from the amphitheater to the improvements being made to the city, to all the events that are being done in the city. Mayor Woodrey – Thanked Mr. Agee and Ms. Harris for their dedication to serving the city of Trenton. Mayor Woodrey has a lot of respect for the two of them and is happy to see they are still willing to be connected. Mayor Woodrey appreciates the people that worked with him alongside council during the 12 years he was mayor. Mayor Woodrey looks forward to serving again as Vice-Mayor and serving with Mr. Croucher and Mr. Nichols.
