A MOTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CLIENT SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH MEDICOUNT MANAGEMENT INC., FOR THE PURPOSE OF EMS BILLING SERVICES AT A FEE EQUAL TO 6.5% OF THE GROSS AMOUNT COLLECTED BY MEDICOUNT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN ALL DOCUMENTS RELATED THERETO. a. Fire Chief Darrel Yater, provided some background information regarding the upcoming motion. The reason behind the motion was in February, the fire department received a letter from the current billing company that their contract will be terminated in October. This company will not be doing EMS billing services anymore, Chief Yater has investigated two other companies and was pleased with Medicount Management, a company based out of Xenia OH. AN ORDINANCE IN THE MATTER OF THE APPROVAL OF THE SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR BUTLER COUNTY SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT DISTRICT (First Reading). REPORTS 1. Finance Director, Matthew Mesisklis a. Mr. Mesisklis discussed the item that was in front of council which was the 2024 budget book. Mr. Mesisklis explained that the city applies for a budget book award for DFOA, the budget book will posted at the City website and Facebook page. Mr. Mesisklis goal for this book was to make it in a consumer- friendly way and to describe in simple terms what each department does and what their goals are. If anyone has any questions regarding the budget book, they can email Mr. Mesisklis, his email is attached on the city website. Mr. Mesisklis also added that if anyone wants to see how the city spends to check the Ohio open checkbook, Mr. Mesisklis recently just uploaded the first quarter spending. 2. Clerk of Council, Stanislav Beresford a. Mr. Beresford is looking forward to Ms. Montgomery’s upcoming weekend event. City of Trenton REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES May 2nd, 2024 - 7:30 p.m. AUDIENCE OF COUNCIL Mr. Croucher- Mr. Croucher took part of the recycle program last Saturday. Mr. Croucher hoped that everyone took part in the event and get rid of your old, unwanted, recyclable items. Mr. Croucher thanked everyone who showed up during this evening’s council meeting and being part of City Council and Pastor Scott for leading this evening’s prayer. Mr. Croucher concluded by inviting those to the upcoming parks board meeting that is happening May 14th at 6:00 pm, the subcommittee will come up with a report regarding the veteran’s memorial. Ms. Montgomery- Ms. Montgomery opened that she was recently on the news on Monday April 29th. Ms. Montgomery found it very easy to talk about Trenton and the upcoming Butterfly event that is happening on Saturday May 4th at 10:00am, Ms. Montgomery noted that over 200 people have RSVP’d and that is not including anyone in the community who wants to go. Ms. Montgomery encourages anyone to go and take part in the event, there will be food including fried chicken, coleslaw, potato wedges, beans, a goetta food truck, shaved ice truck, cookies, cupcakes, soda, and juice for the kids. During the event there will also be two presentations, a proclamation from the governor and a proclamation from Ms. Montgomery. Ms. Montgomery concluded by being appreciative for doing a prayer and the pledge of allegiance to the flag before every council meeting, Ms. Montgomery is extremely appreciative for the community that is around her and that is just one of the reasons why she chose to be on City Council. Mr. Perry- Mr. Perry noted how the last two weekends have been very busy. Mr. Perry thanked Nicole and everyone who was involved, the events turned out excellent. Mr. Perry truly appreciated everyone’s hard work. Ms. Combs- Ms. Combs was very pleased to see all the upcoming events in the City, Ms. Combs can remember days when those events did not happen. Ms. Combs attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for Hooks Fish and Chicken where they had great food and Mayor read a proclamation. Ms. Combs concluded that she is looking forward to Ms. Montgomery’s upcoming butterfly release event. Mr. Nichols- Thanked Nicole Ard, Public Works, and the Police Department for the recycling event. Mr. Nichols was happy to see that it was successful. Mr. Nichols noted that he got rid of his very first computer, which had Windows 95. Vice Mayor-Woodrey- Thanked all the City departments for helping with all the recent events. Vice Mayor-Woodrey noted that the Trenton’s fishing club first annual car show will be held at Barn N Bunk Farm Market at 3677 Wayne Madison Road, there will be 10 trophies awarded and trophies for the top 30 cars, there will be music from a DJ from W.G.R.R, there will also be door prizes, raffles and a 50-50 split including free hot dogs and hamburgers. Vice Mayor noted that since it is a fundraiser there will be a 10-dollar registration fee per car. The event is a rain date of Sunday May 5th if the event can’t be pulled off on Saturday. Vice Mayor looks forward to going to both events that is happening this weekend. City of Trenton REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES May 2nd, 2024 - 7:30 p.m. Mayor Perry – Thanked Vice Mayor for filling in for him last council meeting. Mayor Perry echoed what Ms. Combs had to say regarding all the upcoming events in the city and seeing all the events transpire. Mayor Perry knows that staff works very hard to make sure that all events go as planned and that there will be no problems. Mayor Perry noted that its great to be part of a community that is so lively. Mayor Perry encouraged anyone to go to the upcoming butterfly release for whatever reason if anything has to do with food and Ms. Montgomery you want to be there.
