CITY OF TRENTON Parks and Recreation Board Meeting MINUTES MEETING PLACE: CIVIC HALL - 11 EAST STATE STREET June 11, 2024 – 6:00 p.m. CALL TO ORDER Mr. Hill called to order the regular meeting of the City of Trenton Parks & Recreation Board at 6:00 p.m. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Recited ROLL CALL Mr. Leichman conducted the roll call. Mr. Hill asked for a motion to excuse Ms. Hale and Alternate member Ms. Paulson from tonight’s meeting. Ms. Osuna made the motion and Mr. Croucher seconded. All were in favor. Alternate member Marci Butts sat in for Ms. Hale. Alternate member Ray Nichols was present in the audience. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Hill asked for a motion to approve or amend the minutes of the May 14, 2024, Regular Parks and Recreation Board meeting as submitted. Motion to approve was made by Mr. Croucher and seconded by Mr. Melloh. All voted yeah. PRESENTATIONS None AUDIENCE OF PUBLIC Mr. Hill asked if anyone from the audience would like to address the Board, please step up and state your name and address. No one spoke. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: 1. Provide First, Second, and Third recommendations to city staff for a Fall Fest Band. - Discussion ensued about family-friendliness, fundraising, and quality performances Motion was made by Bob Melloh to give staff an ordered ranked choice of headliners of the ZZ Top Cover Band, Mark Farner, and Tom Petty, with Seahorse Cincy as the opening band. Seconded by Ms. Lucas. Motion passed unanimously. 2. Mr. Hill added the second piece of new business this evening which was a reminder to the board that they were requested by City Manager Nichols to bring two recommendations for  each park to city staff for 2025 budgetary purposes, by the July 9 meeting, for projects from the Master Plan. REPORTS BY THE BOARD OR CITY ADMINISTRATORS Ms. Emily Smith reported that she would be placing 5 pianos this year at various businesses sometime around the week after the 4th of July. Mr. Hill wanted to thank everyone for their participation and involvement with the Spring Fest. He thought it was the best so far. DATE OF NEXT MEETING July 9, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. ADJOURNMENT A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Ms. Lucas and seconded by Mr. Croucher. All were in favor. Mr. Hill adjourned the meeting at 6:49 p.m.
