TRENTON COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT CORPORATION (CIC) MINUTES OF MEETING January 20, 2022 The meeting was called to order at 5:35 PM at the Trenton City Building by President Charlotte Pendergrass. Also present were Councilwoman Jenni Combs, Councilman Ryan Perry, Teresa Nichols and Trenton Economic Development Director James Foster. Vice President Pam Cottle, Joshua Baessler, Ray Nichols and Michael Engel were unable to attend. Mr. Perry moved to approve the Minutes of the October 19, 2021 meeting, Ms. Combs seconded and all members voted in favor of the motion. Mr. Foster reported on the Carvana project in Phase I of the Industrial Park. Construction is essentially complete and the hiring process has begun. A few cars have been moved onto the site. The traffic signal at Wayne Madison Road should be installed momentarily. The Magnode/Shape building is under construction. Mr. Foster has nominated them for a 2021 economic development award from REDI Cincinnati and JobsOhio (construction started in 2021). A grant for $356K+ has been awarded by the State OSIP program for construction of a sanitary sewer extension to the remainder of the Phase II Industrial Park; construction is expected to start around August 1st. The turn lane on Wayne Madison Road at Alan B. Shepard is complete and reimbursement from the State is occurring. Mr. Foster reported on possible vacancies on the Board. An $11K+ CDBG grant has been applied for, to construct a walk between Tamarind Square and the library. Hopefully it will be approved later this Spring. A question was raised by Mr. Perry about the possibility of this area also being planted in wildflowers; most of it is owned by the library. Mr. Foster distributed an update on the restoration of 222 E. State St., funded through our USDA low- interest loan program. The 2050 Comprehensive Plan process was continuing, and good and useful input had been received by the consultant. There would be an open house at the library on January 24th. The roundabout at Wayne Madison and Hamilton Trenton Roads is essentially finished. The next CIC meeting is tentatively scheduled for April 21, 2022 at 5:30 PM at the Trenton City Building. Should a special meeting be required, that will be arranged. Ms. Pendergrass asked for a motion to adjourn. Mr. Perry moved to do so at 5:57 PM, Ms. Combs seconded and all members voted in favor of the motion.
