Minutes of the TROY CITY COUNCIL FINANCE COMMITTEE BUDGET HEARING October 11, 2018 6:15 P.M. The meeting was called to order at 6:15 p.m. by Council President Mantello. Pledge of Allegiance Roll Call: The roll being called, the following answered to their names: Council Member Gulli, Council Member Paratore, Council Member Cummings, Council Member Bissember, Council Member Kennedy, Council President Mantello, Chair. Council Member McGrath was absent. In attendance were Mayor Patrick Madden, Deputy Mayor Monica Kurzejeski, Corporation Deputy Comptroller Andy Piotrowski, Deputy Director of Public Information John Salka, Assessor Sharon Martin, and City Auditor Jeff Nesich. Approximately 8 members of the public attended. Public Forum: No one came forward. Deputy Comptroller Andy Piotrowski gave an overview of the Mayor’s proposed 2019 Budget (see Appendix A), and the budget requests for the Comptroller’s Office (Administration, Assessments, Cash Receipts, Contracts & Procurement, Personnel) and the Vital Statistics Office. Piotrowski and Deputy Mayor Monica Kurzejeski responded to questions regarding various budgetary proposals, including the creation of a separate Garbage Fund. Sharon Martin spoke regarding the budget request of the Assessor’s Office and distributed a handout regarding a proposed assessment update (see Appendix B). City Auditor Jeff Nesich and City Clerk Mara Drogan spoke regarding the budget requests for their respective offices. Council Member Anasha Cummings spoke regarding the budget request for the City Council.
