I. CALL TO ORDER
The Regular Meeting of the Committee on Aging was called to order at 12:05 p.m. by
Albert Lemus at the Tulare Senior Community Center, Bill Thompson Room.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Albert Lemus, Kathy Perryman, Pam Malloy, and Jackie Zupp
MEMBERS ABSENT:
STAFF PRESENT: Lorraine Zorn
II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The flag salute was conducted.
III. CITIZEN COMMENTS – None.
IV. COMMUNICATIONS - None.
V. CONSENT CALENDAR
(1) The minutes of April 20, 2016, were M/S/P by Jackie Zupp and Pam Malloy and
unanimously approved.
VI. SCHEDULED CITIZEN OR GROUP PRESENTATIONS – None.
VII. GENERAL BUSINESS
NUTRITION REPORT: Lorraine Zorn presented the April 2016 Report.
RECREATION REPORT: Lorraine Zorn presented the April 2016 Report.
Trips –
None offered at this time.
Special Events –
Upcoming Luncheons are Father’s Day luncheon which is a golf theme,
sponsored by Altura Centers for Health.
Classes & Activities –
Lorraine mentioned Zumba Gold has returned. Also, AARP tax services
finished up April 15. It is a good program to have but, at times, can be a
stressful service because there are a few people who get very angry with
staff.
VIII. OLD BUSINESS – None.
IX. NEW BUSINESS – Pet Food Grant – Lorraine mentioned that announcement
of pet food award will be this Friday, May 20th. Also, recently awarded
$20,000 which pays for the frozen meals.

The meeting was adjourned at 12:23.m.

This is the time for citizens to comment on items within the jurisdiction of the Board. The
Board cannot legally discuss or take official action on citizen comments that are introduced
today. Each speaker will be allowed three minutes, with a maximum time of 10 minutes per
item, unless otherwise extended by the Board.
IV. COMMUNICATIONS
Communications are to be submitted 10 days prior to a meeting to be considered for this
section of the Agenda. No action will be taken on matters listed under communications;
however, the Board may direct staff to schedule issues raised during communications for a
future agenda. Citizen comments will be limited to three minutes, per topic, unless otherwise
extended by the Board.
V. CONSENT CALENDAR:
All Consent Calendar Items are considered routine and will be enacted in one motion. There
will be no separate discussion of these matters unless a request is made, in which event the
item will be removed from the Consent Calendar to be discussed and voted upon by a
separate motion.
