I. CALL TO ORDER
The Regular Meeting of the Committee on Aging was called to order at 12:01 p.m. by
Albert Lemus at the Tulare Senior Community Center, Bill Thompson Room.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Albert Lemus, Pam Malloy, and Jackie Zupp
MEMBERS ABSENT: Kathy Perryman
STAFF PRESENT: Brian Beck and Lorraine Zorn
II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The flag salute was conducted.
III. CITIZEN COMMENTS – None.
IV. COMMUNICATIONS - None.
V. CONSENT CALENDAR
(1) The minutes of June 15, 2016, were M/S/P by Jackie Zupp and Pam Malloy and
unanimously approved.
VI. SCHEDULED CITIZEN OR GROUP PRESENTATIONS – None.
VII. GENERAL BUSINESS
a. NUTRITION REPORT: Lorraine Zorn presented the June 2016 Report.
b. RECREATION REPORT: Lorraine Zorn presented the June 2016 Report.
Trips –
Chukchansi Casino trip is scheduled for September 15.
Special Events –
Upcoming Luncheons: this Friday is our annual Luau Luncheon and we’ll
be serving Sweet N Pork Kebobs and the Tiki Bar will open serving Virgin
Mai Tais. Next month will be the “Dog Days of Summer” Luncheon and we
will be serving cool, delicious Smoothies.
Classes & Activities –
Lorraine that the Zumba class had to be cancelled because the instructor
relocated employment. Brian commented on the dance participation
decrease of about one thousand for the fiscal year. The biggest increase
was from the new class, Introductory of Watercolors.
c. Tulare Senior Services Report: Three new seniors were elected in June as
new board members and they are: Phyllis Helfer, Karla Brunson and Connie
Pannell.
VIII. OLD BUSINESS – The walls and ceilings were cleaned by Serv Pro.
IX. NEW BUSINESS – None.

The meeting was adjourned at 12:20.m.

This is the time for citizens to comment on items within the jurisdiction of the Board. The
Board cannot legally discuss or take official action on citizen comments that are introduced
today. Each speaker will be allowed three minutes, with a maximum time of 10 minutes per
item, unless otherwise extended by the Board.
IV. COMMUNICATIONS
Communications are to be submitted 10 days prior to a meeting to be considered for this
section of the Agenda. No action will be taken on matters listed under communications;
however, the Board may direct staff to schedule issues raised during communications for a
future agenda. Citizen comments will be limited to three minutes, per topic, unless otherwise
extended by the Board.
V. CONSENT CALENDAR:
All Consent Calendar Items are considered routine and will be enacted in one motion. There
will be no separate discussion of these matters unless a request is made, in which event the
item will be removed from the Consent Calendar to be discussed and voted upon by a
separate motion.
