I. CALL TO ORDER
The Regular Meeting of the Committee on Aging was called to order at 12:00 p.m. by Albert Lemus
at the Tulare Senior Community Center, Bill Thompson Room.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Albert Lemus, Jackie Zupp, Pam Malloy, Priscilla Musgrove
MEMBERS ABSENT: Kathy Perryman
STAFF PRESENT: Brian Beck and Lorraine Zorn
GUESTS: Elsie Dunn, Silvercrest Service Coordinator and Julia Nelson, Silvercrest Property Manager
II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The flag salute was conducted.
III. CITIZEN COMMENTS – Brian noted the annual city budget meeting is this Friday 12:30-5 PM
and there is a 1.5 million deficit. The budget for the Parks & Recreation/Senior Services
appears to have no changes.
IV. COMMUNICATIONS - None.
V. CONSENT CALENDAR
(1) The minutes of February 15, 2017, were M/S/P by Jackie Zupp and Priscilla Musgrove and
unanimously approved.
VI. SCHEDULED CITIZEN OR GROUP PRESENTATIONS – None.
VII. GENERAL BUSINESS
a. NUTRITION REPORT: Lorraine Zorn presented the February 2017 report.
b. RECREATION REPORT: Lorraine Zorn presented February 2017 Report. Lorraine stated
that the Watercolor Art Class is now an Open Painting Class and seniors are charged a $2
fee. The Senior Softball league will start their 2017 season March 27th. There will be a
Monday and Thursday night leagues. There are 2-3 teams in the 60+ Monday Night league
and 5 teams in the 55+ Thursday Night league.
Trips –
The Chukchansi Casino trip is now full and ready to go tomorrow with 55 passengers!
The next Chukchansi casino trip is schedule for June 15. Other scheduled trips are thru
Collette Vacations: The New Orleans & the Deep South, October 15th—22nd, 2017;
Double $2,599 Single $3,199; Highlights: French Quarter, WWII Museum, Cajun Cooking
School, Baton Rogue, Natches, Martin Accordions, Vermilionville, Bayou Cruise.
Special Events –
This Friday we are celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with a luncheon, cupcakes, Shamrock
Shakes. Linwood Meadows will sponsor dessert and representative, Christy
Thompson, will be on-site to answer questions and hand out raffle prizes.
Classes & Activities – None.
c. TULARE SENIOR SERVICES REPORT: Jackie Zupp said that TSS did appoint two seniors
to the board and they are: Richard Flores and Carmen Quinonez. The dance and bingo
programs are doing well.

This is the time for citizens to comment on items within the jurisdiction of the Board. The
Board cannot legally discuss or take official action on citizen comments that are introduced
today. Each speaker will be allowed three minutes, with a maximum time of 10 minutes per
item, unless otherwise extended by the Board.
IV. COMMUNICATIONS
Communications are to be submitted 10 days prior to a meeting to be considered for this
section of the Agenda. No action will be taken on matters listed under communications;
however, the Board may direct staff to schedule issues raised during communications for a
future agenda. Citizen comments will be limited to three minutes, per topic, unless otherwise
extended by the Board.
V. CONSENT CALENDAR:
All Consent Calendar Items are considered routine and will be enacted in one motion. There
will be no separate discussion of these matters unless a request is made, in which event the
item will be removed from the Consent Calendar to be discussed and voted upon by a
separate motion.
