Tulare Library Advisory Board Meeting Tulare Public Library | 475 North M Street | Tulare, CA February 22 2017, at 4:00pm | TPL Charter Room Facilitator: Lisa Hollingshead | Minutes: Heidi Clark Attendees: Lisa Hollingshead; Ellen Baker; Michelle Lippincott; Terry Sayre; Donna Schauland; Marissa Moya; Yesenia Zepeda; Traci Myers; Rob Hunt; Heidi Clark; Melissa Emerson; Sarah Fly; and, Jane Zikratch City of Tulare Mission Statement: To promote a quality of life making Tulare the most desirable community in which to live, learn, play, work, worship and prosper Agenda Topic Speaker Time I. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 4:07pm Lisa Hollingshead 2 II. CITIZEN COMMENTS: This is the time for citizens to comment on items within the Lisa Hollingshead 2 jurisdiction of the Advisory Board. The Board cannot legally discuss or take official action on citizen comments that are introduced today. Each speaker will be allowed 3 minutes, with a maximum of 10 minutes per item, unless otherwise extended by the board .None III. COMMUNICATIONS: Communications are to be submitted 10 days prior to a Lisa Hollingshead 2 meeting to be considered for this section of the Agenda. No action will be taken on matters listed under Communications; however, the Board may direct staff to schedule issues raised during Communications for a future agenda. Citizen comments will be limited to 3 minutes per topic, unless otherwise extended by Board None IV. ITEMS OF STUDENT INTEREST None Marissa Moya & Yesenia 5 Zepeda V. CONSENT CALENDAR: All Consent Calendar items are considered routine and will Lisa Hollingshead 2 be enacted in one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these matters unless a request is made, in which event the item will be removed from the Consent Calendar to be discussed and voted upon by a separate motion.  Approval of Minutes – January 18, 2017  Donna moved & Michelle seconded. Minutes approved VI. SCHEDULED CITIZEN OR GROUP PRESENTATIONS None Lisa Hollingshead 2 VII. GENERAL BUSINESS Board members took presidential quiz that Lisa Hollingshead 3 had been available to public as part of our President’s Day display. Jane Zikratch 10  Snapshot of Stats & Library Updates (Passport Inspection Library Staff 10 Report) Jane reviewed the monthly stats and positive comments from TPL passport inspection. There was 10 discussion regarding the fact that December numbers Board Members were lower. Is this a reflection of closed days/holidays? Everyone is pleased with the feedback on passport evaluations.  Upcoming Programs & Outreach (John Phillip Sousa program, Home buyers program, VRC workshop, etc) Staff shared upcoming programs: John Philip Souza presented by Bill Ingram of Tulare Community Band on 2.22; Home ownership workshop on 2/23 presented by Union Bank; Be Your Own Boss coming March 22 in partnership with Small Business Development Association; Dr. Seuss event 2/25 @1pm. Staff will share stories & Dr. Seuss craft; Black History month program in partnership with Sequoia Genealogical Society & LDS Church-2/25 @ 10am  Suggestions – Library Advisory Board Questions from the Board about the process for filling the Library Manager position and the Lily Pad. What happens next? What would we like to see in that space? What did City Council decide about having board members representing Council Districts? VIII. ADJOURNMENT Meeting adjourned at 4:50pm Lisa Hollingshead 1 53 Snapshot of Stats Passport Site Inspection: February 09, 2017 The facility continues to be fully compliant with all passport standard procedures and guidelines, an impressive achievement. This level of success is maintained through exceptional organization, attention to detail, responsible management, and engaged staff. By striving for full compliance year after year, the facility demonstrates dedication to maintaining the integrity of the passport application acceptance process. These comments share no specific passport requirements, nor confidential information, and can therefore be shared with both passport agents and others.
