CALL TO ORDER Lisa called the meeting to order at 4:10pm Lisa Hollingshead 2 II. CITIZEN COMMENTS: This is the time for citizens to comment on items within the Lisa Hollingshead 2 jurisdiction of the Advisory Board. The Board cannot legally discuss or take official action on citizen comments that are introduced today. Each speaker will be allowed 3 minutes, with a maximum of 10 minutes per item, unless otherwise extended by the board. None III. COMMUNICATIONS: Communications are to be submitted 10 days prior to a Lisa Hollingshead 2 meeting to be considered for this section of the Agenda. No action will be taken on matters listed under Communications; however, the Board may direct staff to schedule issues raised during Communications for a future agenda. Citizen comments will be limited to 3 minutes per topic, unless otherwise extended by Board. None IV. ITEMS OF STUDENT INTEREST None Marissa Moya & Yesenia 5 Zepeda V. CONSENT CALENDAR: All Consent Calendar items are considered routine and will Lisa Hollingshead 2 be enacted in one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these matters unless a request is made, in which event the item will be removed from the Consent Calendar to be discussed and voted upon by a separate motion.  Approval of Minutes – April 19, 2017 Ellen moved & Donna 2nd. Minutes approved VI. SCHEDULED CITIZEN OR GROUP PRESENTATIONS Lisa Hollingshead 2 VII. GENERAL BUSINESS Lisa Hollingshead 3  Snapshot of Stats & Library Updates Updates from Rob on Jane Zikratch 10 Community Services restructuring. This covers Parks, Recreation, and Library. Final interviews for Library 10 manager took place today. Hope to have a decision later in the week. Council meeting w/budget session last 10 night. Ran late. Discussion regarding Council member Sigala’s desire for more attention/outreach to the West Library Staff side. Find an opportunity to detail for him what the library already does. Board Members As to lower numbers on Snapshot—does spring break have an impact? Some adjustments were made for data entered late.  Upcoming Programs & Outreach (Summer Reading Program, BYOB part 2, etc.) Part 2 of Be Your Own Boss series coming up. Focus is on marketing your business. JZ shared about AtoZ databases. Summer Reading Program  starts June 10th. Runs through July 15th.  Suggestions – Library Advisory Board Board discussed the possibility of fundraisers, specifically an “art” evening or event for adults. Some members have attended similar events as part of “Paint Night Fresno”. $25 donation. Board also asked about filling the café. Rob indicated there have been some inquiries, but nothing is firm at this time. VIII. ITEMS OF BOARD MEMBER INTEREST Lisa Hollingshead 2 IX.
