CALL TO ORDER - 4:02 Lisa Hollingshead 2 II. CITIZEN COMMENTS: This is the time for citizens to comment on items within the Lisa Hollingshead 2 jurisdiction of the Advisory Board. The Board cannot legally discuss or take official action on citizen comments that are introduced today. Each speaker will be allowed 3 minutes, with a maximum of 10 minutes per item, unless otherwise extended by the board. None III. COMMUNICATIONS: Communications are to be submitted 10 days prior to a Lisa Hollingshead 2 meeting to be considered for this section of the Agenda. No action will be taken on matters listed under Communications; however, the Board may direct staff to schedule issues raised during Communications for a future agenda. Citizen comments will be limited to 3 minutes per topic, unless otherwise extended by Board. None IV. ITEMS OF STUDENT INTEREST 5 None V. SCHEDULED CITIZEN OR GROUP PRESENTATIONS Lisa Hollingshead 2 VII. GENERAL BUSINESS Lisa Hollingshead 3 • Community Services updates: Craig Miller 10 Community Services Director Miller shared that Rec Heidi Clark center remains closed, some staff are working in other Library Staff 10 departments like the Senior Center and Library, Grab and Go meals are still funded and they are averaging Board Members approximately 100 meals a day. Normal maintenance in 10 the parks is being kept up as well as some new playground equipment installed. COVID numbers are reported from the county and they are not going down. We remain in “purple” and it can take three weeks to move to the next tier. We are doing things slowly, not wanting to jump ahead. City Council and the City Manager are very supportive of this, not talking of laying off any staff. Liability is a concern with opening up to quickly. • Library Updates (survey; City Schools mtgs, etc.) Library Manager Clark shared that the library will move ahead to phase 3. This includes check out service at the card desk, wireless printing, faxing, scanning, and copies. • Programs & Outreach (Hispanic Heritage month) Website program calendar shared by Librarian Lovos, highlighting Hispanic Heritage Month events and Banned Books Week. Library Manager Clark shared that she met virtually with Librarian Emerson and schools and discussed how the library can support teachers with our online resources like SORA and possibly a virtual library tour. Lastly, the library now has a YouTube channel and is gradually building content. • Suggestions from the Board None VIII. ITEMS OF BOARD MEMBER INTEREST Lisa Hollingshead 2 Board Member Baker appreciates the pick-up service offered. Community Services Director Miller thanked the library staff for all their hard work, especially with the Census.
