806 CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL CALLED MEETING MUNICIPAL MINUTES CITY OF TUPELO STATE OF MISSISSIPPI AUGUST 31, 2021 Be it remembered that a special called meeting of the Tupelo City Council was held in the Council Chambers in the City Hall building on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. with the following in attendance: Council Members, Lynn Bryan, Travis Beard, Nettie Davis, Buddy Palmer, Janet Gaston and Rosie Jones.; Ben Logan, City Attorney and Missy Shelton, Clerk of the Council. Council Member Chad Mims was absent. Council President Buddy Palmer called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. IN THE MATTER OF DETERMINATION OF NEED FOR EXECUTIVE SESSION Council Member Beard moved, seconded by Council Member Davis. to determine the need of an Executive Session. City Attorney Ben Logan advised the Council that the topic for discussion, purchase and sale of real property Miss. Code Anno. §25-41-7 (4) (g) (1972 as amended), is a legal reason to enter an executive session. The vote was unanimous in favor. IN THE MATTER OF EXECUTIVE SESSION Council Member Davis moved, seconded by Council Member Beard, to enter into executive session to discuss purchase and sale of real property Miss. Code Anno. §25-41-7 (4) (g) (1972 as amended. The vote was unanimous in favor, and the city council entered executive session at 4:03 p.m. After a discussion of the issue, Council Member Beard moved, seconded by Council Member Gaston, to leave the executive session. The vote was unanimous, and the city council returned to open session at 4:08 p.m. IN THE MATTER OF APPROVAL OF ORDER DECLARING REAL PROPERTY AS SURPLUS LOCATED ON COURT STREET AND AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SAID PROPERTY Council Member Bryan moved, seconded by Council Member Beard to approve an “Order Declaring Real Property as Surplus on Court Street and Authorizing the Sale of Said Property”'.
