RECOMMENDATION: The City Council appoint an Interim City Manager and approve the employment contract. ORDER OF PROCEDURE: Request Staff Report (City Manager Presenting) Council Questions of Staff Request Public Comment Council Discussion Motion/Second Discussion of Motion Call the Question (roll call vote) BACKGROUND: With the resignation of current City Manager Frank Luckino, the City needs to appoint an interim City Manager to serve in that role until a permanent City Manager can be selected. The City Council considered several internal and external candidates and are ready to make that recommendation. The appointment and contract will be effective immediately so they can work with the current City Manager until his departure on October 26th. ENVIRONMENTAL: N/A ALTERNATIVES: The City Council could choose to revise the contract, make other recommendations for appointment, and/or give other direction. FISCAL IMPACT: The City Manager position is budgeted with benefits, so as long as the wage is at, or lower than the current City Manager contract, it will be within budget. Page 5 of 5
