PUBLIC COMMENTS
This is the time for the public to address the Youth Council on issues within the jurisdiction of the Youth Council
that are NOT on this agenda. All comments are to be directed to the Youth Council and shall not consist of any
personal attacks. Members of the public are expected to maintain a professional, courteous decorum during
their comments. There is a time limitation of three minutes per person. If you haven’t already done so, please
fill out name and address slips and give them to the Secretary to the Youth Council. The Youth Council is
prohibited by State law from taking action or discussing items not included on the printed agenda. Public
comments on specific agenda items will be deferred until consideration of the item on the agenda.

CALL TO ORDER
Youth Council Chairperson I. Coleman calls the meeting to order at 4:05 pm.
Pledge of Allegiance.
Roll Call - The following Youth Council members were present:
Isaac Coleman, Tallulah Coleman, Thomas Elkins, Jaguar Goodwin, Judah Goodwin, Izzabella Hargrove, Viviana
Hermosillo, Jax Langdon, Audrina McConville, Pearl Sullivan, Brett Viloria, Truman Walsh.
Absent: William Sumption
Changes to the Agenda - None.
ANNOUNCEMENTS - None.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
1. Eric Menendez shared information about upcoming events in the community and encouraged the youth to talk
to community members and connect in person.
BUSINESS
2. Approval of Minutes of the Youth Council Meeting held on October 16, 2024
Motion to approve the meeting minutes by Youth Council member Viloria, motion seconded by Youth Council
member Walsh.
3. Youth Council member Hargrove to provide an update on Toys for Tots contacts.
No update at this time - expected at the next meeting.
Public comment from Eric Menendez that the Youth Council can use the space at The Lobby to run a toy drive
or for meeting space.
4. Attending city meetings - come up with a plan for participation and representation.
Youth Council Advisor Tessier discussed the importance of Youth Council members attending the various city
meetings. She will post meeting information in Heja as meetings are announced. Youth Council members
Elkins and I. Coleman will attend the next City Council meeting on November 12, 2024, and report back to the
council.

5. Social media promotion - discuss ways to increase followers and plan for weekly posts.

Youth Council Advisor Tessier will post about Youth Council Instagram page on 29 Parks and Recreation
Instagram/Facebook pages. To help increase followers, all members are asked to share Youth Council
Instagram posts on their own Instagram stories.
6. Youth Council logo discussion and vote.
Youth Council members Hermosillo and Elkins shared the new Youth Council logo they created. All members
voted in favor of using the new logo.
7. City Olympics logo discussion and vote.
Youth Council members Hermosillo and Elkins shared the new City Olympics logo they created. There was a
discussion about the design with feedback on editing the banner at the bottom of the logo. An updated version
will be presented at the next meeting.
8. Leadership activity - group work to discuss and develop leadership skills.
All Youth Council members participated in a leadership activity. They worked collaboratively in a breakout
session and shared their ideas about leaders and leadership.
YOUTH COUNCIL ADVISOR COMMENTS
Youth Council Advisor Tessier reminded the members to read Atomic Habits before the next meeting. She thanked Youth
Council member Viloria for volunteering at the City's Halloween Bash. She informed members about the Holiday Parade
coming up on Tuesday, December 3rd and asked for volunteers to walk in the parade and take pictures with the kids from
5-8 pm.
FUTURE YOUTH COUNCIL INITIATED ITEMS - None.
