1. Reminder: End-of-the-Term Celebration at the Bowladium on June 11th at 4pm.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
This is the time for the public to address the Youth Council on issues within the jurisdiction of the Youth Council
that are NOT on this agenda. All comments are to be directed to the Youth Council and shall not consist of any
personal attacks. Members of the public are expected to maintain a professional, courteous decorum during their
comments. There is a time limitation of three minutes per person. If you haven’t already done so, please fill out
name and address slips and give them to the Secretary to the Youth Council. The Youth Council is prohibited by
State law from taking action or discussing items not included on the printed agenda. Public comments on specific
agenda items will be deferred until consideration of the item on the agenda.

CALL TO ORDER
Youth Councilmember I. Coleman called the meeting to order at 4:01 pm.
Pledge of Allegiance.
Roll Call - The following Youth Council Members were present: Isaac Coleman, Tallulah Coleman, Thomas Elkins, Jaguar
Goodwin, Judah Goodwin, Izzabella Hargrove, Viviana Hermosillo, Audrina McConville, William Sumption, Brett Viloria,
Truman Walsh
Absent: Jax Langdon, Pearl Sullivan
Changes to the Agenda - Remove Item 4.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
1. Reminder: Attend May 13th City Council Meeting to Receive Certificates from Senator Ochoa Bogh's Office.
2. Volunteers Needed: Cheer on the Girls on the Run Participants in their End-of-the-Season 5K Celebration on
Thursday, May 22nd at 4:30pm at Luckie Park.

BUSINESS
3. Approval of Minutes of the Youth Council Meeting Held on April 16, 2025.
Motion to approve the meeting minutes by Youth Councilmember Hermosillo, motion seconded by Youth
Councilmember Sumption.
CARRIED.
4. Guest Speaker Mayor Pro Tem Daniel Mintz to Present Leadership Experience and Inform Youth about his
Role on the City Council.
Postponed to the next meeting.
DISCUSSION AND POTENTIAL ACTION ITEMS
5. Food Drive Plan of Action - May 10th, 8am - 12pm. Confirm Attendance and Food Delivery to Food Pantry.
Youth Councilmembers attending - I. Coleman, T. Coleman, Walsh, McConville, Sullivan (8-10am). Youth
Council Advisor Tessier to make 100 Feed 29 tri-fold brochures to be passed out. Youth Councilmember
McConville will pick them up on Friday. Youth Councilmember I. Coleman took a Youth Council banner, zip
ties, and four chairs to bring to Food Drive. He will take pictures at the event for social media and records. He
and T. Coleman will deliver the food to the Feed 29 Food Pantry after the Food Drive ends on Saturday.

6. Teen Astronomy Night at Sky's the Limit - May 23, 2025 - Marketing Plan & Confirm Attendance.
Caitlin Gill from Joshua Tree Astronomy Adventures (JTAA) was in attendance and shared updates with the
Council - the large telescope at Sky's the Limit will be available for viewing and JTAA will bring five additional
telescopes and binoculars for viewing. JTAA will provide 200 bottled waters, 200 chips, 200 sweet snacks, and
100 Gatorade or soft drinks. There was a discussion about purchasing pizza to offer additional snacks. Ms. Gill
offered to provide some pizza, but she will check with her business partner first before determining the amount
and the Youth Council will purchase the remaining amount, to be determined. Youth Counci Advisor Tessier will
bring two - 8ft tables, four Burrtec cardboard trash boxes, and trash bags; and purchase red glow stick
bracelets to give out to attendees. Youth Councilmember Hermosillo reported that people are registering
through the Google form. A discussion about creating pins for the event also took place with Youth
Councilmember Elkins drafting a design that combined all three organizations’ logos, which will be shared with
Ann at Sky's the Limit, who offered to make pins. All Youth Councilmembers attending the event should arrive
at Sky's the Limit at 7pm to help with pre-event clean-up. Youth Councilmembers McConville and Hargrove are
unable to attend due to previous commitments.
7. Final Report for City Council Meeting - June 10th. Assign Responsibilities.
Youth Councilmembers Walsh, Hermosillo, Sumption, Elkins, and I. Coleman offered to work together on the
final report to be presented at the City Council meeting. They will meet virtually on May 14th to create an
outline for a PowerPoint presentation. Youth Council Advisor Tessier will email them on May 15th to confirm
they have a plan of action for their presentation. The final presentation is due to the Youth Council Advisor by
June 2nd to be submitted to the City Clerk.
YOUTH COUNCIL ADVISOR COMMENTS
Youth Council Advisor Tessier discussed the end-of-the-term party at the Bowladium with the council deciding that
Wednesday, June 11th at 4pm will work best for everyone. There will be bowling and food from Mexican Street Taco.
