Review Easter Egg Hunt
Despite the inclement weather the turnout was great. Our Easter Bunny (Leah) did
an excellent job. Suggestions for next year were decorating a chair and an arch for
the bunny and having larger signs indicating where the different age groups
should go.
Arbor Day – April 21, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
Approximately 45 Valley Park School 4th graders will be in attendance. Amanda
from the Missouri Department of Conservation will be speaking to the children
and answering their questions. Jake ordered a weeping willow tree to be planted
near the lake. Paula ordered saplings to hand out to the children. Hot dogs, chips,
cookies and water will be served.
Goat Parade – May 8 at 6:00 p.m.
There will be a goat parade as the city officially welcomes a number of goats that
will be temporarily placed in a fenced area in the north woods for at least a week.
The goats will be eating the overgrown brambles, honey suckle and poison ivy
among other brush.
Movie Night – May 15 at 8:00 p.m.
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off will be shown. Attendees will bring their own drinks. Bags
of popcorn will be passed out.
Family Fun Day – June 13 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
The following Game World attractions have been reserved for Family Fun Day – V4
Bungee Trampoline, Wizzer, Crazy Fun Foam and Dino Kid Zone Bounce House.
Paula presented to the committee possible additional attractions offered by Game
World. Those include an inflatable crawl through train, a children’s train to circle
the park path and an inflatable baseball T-ball. The committee members thought
the additional attractions would be very nice to have. Because the cost of adding
these new attractions would exceed our previous expenditure for Family Fun Day
the Board would need to approve the additional cost. Cindy is going to seek the
Board’s approval at their April 15th meeting. There will also be carnival games such
as a lollipop tree, giant Jenga and ring toss. As in past years there will be face
tattoos and Share will be drawing caricatures. Cotton candy, popcorn and possibly
snow cones and water will be provided.
Yoga Classes
There was an offer to provide evening yoga classes at city hall in the community
room. These classes would be for residents only and would be paid for by the city.
The classes would be 60 minutes in length and be held every other week. The
committee members thought it was a good idea to offer the classes.
Committee Membership Update
Mike Krewson is resigning from the committee. A notice will be going out asking if
anyone would like to join the committee to replace Mike.
Meeting Time Discussion
There was a request from April Milne, Administrator/Clerk, to keep the park
committee meeting time at 6:30 p.m. All the members present agreed.
At 6:30 p.m. Connie moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Moni-Approved
