Planning Commission Regular Meeting

Town of Tyrone, Georgia Planning Commission Minutes March 24, 2016 Present: Wil James, Chairman Carl Schouw, Member Marlon Davis, Member Kyle Hood, Town Manager Patrick Stough, Town Attorney Call to Order Chairman James called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Approval of Agenda Commissioner Schouw makes a motion to approve the agenda as submitted. Commissioner Davis seconds the motion. Motion is approved (3-0). Approval of Minutes – February 25, 2016 Commissioner Davis makes a motion to approve the meeting minutes as submitted. Commissioner Schouw seconds the motion. Motion is approved (3-0). Public Hearing – Text Amendment 2016-001 Mr. Hood introduces the matter coming before the Planning Commission this evening; a consideration to amend the text of the Tyrone Zoning Ordinance Article VI §6-7 Fences and Walls. Chairman James opens Public Hearing. No one speaks in favor of the amendment. No one speaks in opposition to the amendment. Commissioner Schouw makes a motion to recommend the amended text be approved by Town Council. Commissioner Davis seconds the motion. A discussion for the purpose of clarification and intent on the language to be included in the submission to Town Council is led by Mr. Hood due to his absence at the previous workshop where this matter was worked on. The Town Attorney will work with staff to draft a clean copy showing deleted text and amended height of fences and applicable materials to be considered by Town Council on April 7, 2016. Motion is approved (3-0) with comments. Staff Comments Mr. Hood updates the members present on the search for a new Planning and Development staff member and on the feedback received from the recent training opportunity. Adjournment Commissioner Schouw makes a motion to adjourn at 7:29.
