Proclamation Designating February a Career 15 and Technical Education Month 16 17 ACTING CITY CLERK: Mayor, first items we 18 have proclamations to present this evening. 19 The first proclamation is for the Girl 20 Scout -- 21 I think we have two groups here tonight. 22 COMMISSIONER MARTINETTI: Proclamation from 23 the City of Union City. 24 Girl Scouts are taking action -- 25 I’m sorry.  6 1 Girl Scouting takes an active role in 2 increasing girls’ awareness opportunities 3 available to them today and in the field math, 4 science, sports, technology and other 5 professional fields. 6 The Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey was 7 formed in 2008 inescapable and delivered the 8 optimal Girl Scout experience to over 20,000 9 young women and adults in Essex, Hudson, 10 Hunterdon, Middletown (sic), Somerset, Union, and 11 Warren Counties; and 12 Whereas, more than 3.8 million Girl Scouts 13 nationwide, including excess of a million in the 14 State of New Jersey, join in celebrating and 15 rejoicing in the Great American tradition with 16 nearly 50 million more and are former Girl Scouts 17 and living proof of the impact of the amazing 18 movement; and 19 Now therefore be resolved that Mayor Brian 20 P. Stack, Mayor of the City of Union City, and 21 the Union City Board of Commissioner, do hereby 22 honor and applaud the commitment to the Girl 23 Scouts have made to support the leadership, 24 development of American girls and proudly 25 proclaim the week of March 5th to the 12th as Girl  7 1 Scouts Week. 2 Congratulations, girls. 3 (Applause.) 4 MAYOR STACK: I would just -- I would just 5 also like to say that we’re very proud of the 6 Girl Scouts in Union City, all that you do in 7 Union City and Hudson County. That means 19 the State won’t withhold any of our aid. 20 It’s really required for the State and 21 that’s why we do it. You want a copy, we’ll have 22 a copy on file, if anybody wants to see all the 23 questions that are asked. 24 MAYOR STACK: And this is in reference to 25 our municipal aid, which we receive approximately  29 1 in direct State aid almost 18 million dollars. 2 MS.
