COLDITZ: It’s actually less than what 21 the introduce -- you know, a little bit -- 22 MR. DILLON: Could you -- 23 MS. COLDITZ: -- more than what -- 24 MR. DILLON: Could you come to the mic, 25 Sue? COLDITZ: Okay. 12 MS. PONTUS: -- stuff home ‘cause I -- 13 MS. COLDITZ: If you look at -- 14 MS. PONTUS: -- have other things -- 15 MS. COLDITZ: If you look at the sheet it 16 will show all the changes from the introduced to 17 the adopted. 18 And the introduced budget amount to be 19 raised was 64 846 74 and it changed by about 20 $70,000.00, which really didn’t affect the tax -- 21 MAYOR STACK: So which -- 22 MS. COLDITZ: -- rate too much. 23 MAYOR STACK: -- means that it will remain 24 stable. 25 MS. COLDITZ: Yeah, it should remain  20 1 stabile. 2 MS. PONTUS: Okay. I guess -- 3 MS. COLDITZ: Okay? 4 MS. PONTUS: -- I could ask her the next 5 question? 6 MAYOR STACK: Through the Board, sure. 7 MS. PONTUS: As far as exempt properties, 8 do you figure in how much we have lost and the 9 rest of the taxpayers are picking up? 10 In particular for a small city with a large 11 tax problem, the amount of exempt properties we 12 have is crazy. It really is. 13 But the ones in particular I’d like to know 14 about is the SDC. There’s like 30 lots. 15 And, Brian, it’s nine, ten years. What’s 16 gonna happen with those lots? Or when are we 17 gonna start getting money? 18 It will help everybody throughout the whole 19 city. 20 MAYOR STACK: We pushed for that, Kathie. 21 One of the things we tried to do is there 22 was a couple properties that actually were 23 developed down there over the years. 24 There’s a building on -- 25 If we’re talking about 5th or 6th/Summit  21 1 Avenue, Kennedy Boulevard. 2 MS. PONTUS: Right. The only one is Mr. 3 Minini (phonetic), which I questioned how he even 4 got that property back. Because he had been 5 eminent domained and then all of a sudden he 6 built the three-story building. 7 MAYOR STACK: Oh, we contacted the State 8 actually on that telling them that he was looking 9 to build a building there and they said that he 10 right to go ahead and build the property. 11 MS. PONTUS: But hadn’t -- 12 MAYOR STACK: There was communication -- 13 MS. PONTUS: -- they already paid him? 14 MAYOR STACK: Sorry? 15 MS. PONTUS: Hadn’t they already paid 16 him -- 17 MAYOR STACK: I really don’t know, Kathie. 18 MS. PONTUS: -- with the eminent domain? 19 MAYOR STACK: With the State, on that end 20 of this, I really don’t know. 21 MS. PONTUS: Yeah. 22 Well, especially considering the SCC and 23 how they manage to lose, misplace or whatever, 24 billions of dollars. You know it just -- it’s a 25 question.  22 1 MAYOR STACK: Sure. 2 MS. PONTUS: Did they pay him and give him 3 back the property? 4 He built a three-story; he’s making a 5 profit. 6 MAYOR STACK: I really don’t know. 7 MS. PONTUS: The rest of the City taxpayers 8 are swallowing their taxes that those 30 lots 9 represented. That would help everybody. And I 10 don’t know if -- 11 MAYOR STACK: We would have loved to 12 have -- 13 MS. PONTUS: -- they’re ever figured in to 14 the numbers. And now it’s a big loss. 15 MAYOR STACK: We would have loved to have 16 had them developed or, if not, a school built on 17 there at the time. I don’t see a school coming 18 in the future. 19 What the SDA does, we’re looking to 20 possibly use some of it for municipal use right 21 now until they decide what they’re going to do 22 with them. 23 But I don’t see anything coming in the near 24 future right away, no. 25 MS. PONTUS: And what about the other  23 1 property up on Kerrigan? 2 What’s gonna happen with that school? 3 Is that getting extended -- 4 MAYOR STACK: That’s getting extended. 5 MS. PONTUS: -- onto that empty lot? 6 MAYOR STACK: That’s going to be totally 7 occupied by the school. 8 MS. PONTUS: ‘Cause that covers, what, -- 9 MAYOR STACK: You’re talking about the 10 Gilmore School site? 11 MS. PONTUS: -- 16th -- 12 Yeah. 13 MAYOR STACK: Right. 14 MS. PONTUS: That covers 16th and -- 15 MAYOR STACK: Right. 16 MS. PONTUS: -- Kerrigan. 17 MAYOR STACK: Right. 18 MS. PONTUS: But my biggest questions are 19 these. And there is one lot that is listed on 20 the exempt list as vacant land and it currently 21 holds an active business. 22 I made these copies for you. And this is 23 what I’m referring to. I gave you the copy of 24 what it says. This is the address. 25 MAYOR STACK: Can we keep this?  24 1 MS. PONTUS: I made those copies -- 2 MAYOR STACK: Sure. 3 MS. PONTUS: -- for you. 4 MAYOR STACK: I’ll give it to Christine. 5 Christine, you will look into this -- 6 MS. VANEK: Sure. 7 MAYOR STACK: -- right away; all right? 8 MS. PONTUS: But I wanted to check with you 14 first what you have plans for ‘cause I don’t want 15 to question them on something that -- 16 How will the City use it municipal? 17 How will you get ownership from the State? 18 Will they just give you the property? 19 MAYOR STACK: No. No. It would be -- it 20 would be more of a use and occupancy on the 21 property until they decide what they’re going to 22 do with it. 23 MS. PONTUS: So is that another one of 24 those dollar-a-year-rental kind of -- 25 MAYOR STACK: It probably would be. Yeah.  25 1 Something along those lines. 2 MS. PONTUS: Like we do with the park and 3 the DPW? 4 MAYOR STACK: Right. Right. That’s what 5 it would be. 6 MS. PONTUS: But you’re not gonna use all 7 of that land down there? 8 MAYOR STACK: No. 9 MS. PONTUS: All right. Fine. 10 But if you could get back to me on, 11 especially the top one, -- 12 MAYOR STACK: Christine will definitely 13 look into it right away. 14 MS. PONTUS: But the rest of them, I mean 15 where Molinar’s (phonetic) was, I think that 16 accounts for like five lots. 17 MAYOR STACK: Right. That was where City 18 Limits (phonetic) was. 19 Right? 20 MS. PONTUS: Yeah. 21 MAYOR STACK: Right. 22 MS. PONTUS: Right on the corner there. 23 MAYOR STACK: Right. Right. 24 MS. PONTUS: And then it -- 25 MAYOR STACK: Exactly.  26 1 MS. PONTUS: -- I think it went -- 2 MAYOR STACK: It ran up -- 3 MS. PONTUS: -- up a little bit. 4 MAYOR STACK: -- and ran onto 5th Street. 5 MS.
