CITY OF UNIVERSITY PLACE MINUTES Special Meeting of the City Council Monday, April 22, 2024 1. CALL SPECIAL MEETING TO ORDER Mayor Figueroa called the Special Meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Attendance was noted as follows: Mayor Figueroa, Mayor Pro Tem Wood, Councilmember Worthington, Councilmember McCluskey and Councilmember Boykin Excused Absence: Councilmember Flemming and Councilmember Grassi U Staff Present: City Manager Sugg, City Attorney Kaser, Public Works Director Ecklund and City Clerk Genetia.N 2. O APPROVAL OF AGENDA FF MOTION: By Councilmember Mayor Pro Tem Wood, seconded by Councilmember Worthington, to approve the agenda. IA The motion carried. IC PUBLIC HEARING AND COUNCIL CONSIDERATION 3. AMENDMENT TO THE 2024-2029 TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PLAN L Staff Report - Public Works Director Ecklund reported that the City and the City of Fircrest are planning on jointly applying for grant funding through the Puget Sound Regional Council countywide competition for D improvements to 44th Street West between 67th Avenue and Alameda Avenue. This roadway is jointly owned by the two cities. In order to make the application eligible, staff are proposing to add project 46 (44th O Street Phase 3) to the City’s Six-Year Transportation Improvement Plan for 2024-2029. Public Comment – None. C Council Consideration – MAIN MOTION: By Mayor Pro Tem Wood, seconded by Councilmember U Worthington, to adopt a Resolution approving the amendment to the Six-Year Transportation Improvement Plan for years 2024-2029 as amended. The motion carried. M EN AMENDMENT: By Mayor Pro Tem Wood, seconded by Mayor Figueroa, to delete any dollars noted under the Right-of-Way Phase of project #46. The motion carried. T 4.
