CALL TO ORDER, ROLL CALL AND DECLARATION OF QUORUM The Urbana Arts and Culture Commission was called to order at 4:30 P.M by Hedlund. Storm took roll and a quorum was declared present. 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING Commissioner Modica motioned to approve minutes from September 14, 2021 meeting of the Urbana Arts and Culture Commission. Commissioner Schein seconded. There was no discussion and the motion passed. Commissioner Schein motioned to approve minutes from October 12, 2021 meeting of the Urbana Arts and Culture Commission. Commissioner Modica seconded. There was no discussion and the motion passed. Commissioner motioned to approve the minutes from the November 9th, 2021 meetings of the Urbana Arts and Culture Commission. Commissioner Modica and Schein identified two spelling corrections. Commissioner Schein motioned to approve the November minutes with changes. Commissioner Modica seconded. The motion passed. 3. ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA Sarah Buckman of Common Ground Food Co-op will present the 2021 Urbana Arts Grant, Food for All Mural. The Arts and Culture Coordinator noted that Sarah Buckman now serves as a commissioner, but concluded this grant project before assuming her role as a commissioner on the Urbana Arts and Culture Commission. 4. PUBLIC INPUT There was none. 5. PRESENTATIONS a. Staff Report  Storm reported that the Arts and Culture Program continues to work in a hybrid format. Storm provided staffing updates for the Arts and Culture Program including a search for a temporary program specialist and noted the completion of work by two student interns from The University of Illinois Community Learning Lab, and one student intern from Urbana High School’s Executive Internship Program. Storm Provided updates for current projects including the 2021 Urbana Arts grant applications, Growing Community Public Art Initiative, Young Artist’s Studio, Art Show and Tell, Art Now, Murals on Glass, Urbana Utility Box Mural Program, The Great ARTdoors, Juxtapositioned, Urbana Sculpture Project, Urbana Street Pole Art Banners, and collaboration with Imagine Urbana. Storm also provided updates on Poet Laureate’s recent activities and recent mural unveilings. Storm concluded her presentation with a recorded presentation by outgoing Urbana Arts and Culture Interns. b. Grant Presentations i. Satina Braswell will present the final report for the 2020 Urbana Arts Grant, Main Street Carnival ii. Rob Krumm of CU Folk and Roots Festival will present the final report for the 2021 Urbana Arts Grant, Champaign-Urbana Folk and Roots Festival All final reports presented at this meeting will be made available on the Urbana Arts and Culture Commission meeting page for Tuesday, October 12th, 2021: www.urbanaillinois.us/node/9498 6. NEW BUSINESS a. Discussion of Tier III Grants Process for 2022 Urbana Arts Grants The Arts and Culture Coordinator led a discussion of the Tier III Urbana Arts Grant process. 7. ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Headlund passed chairing duties to Commissioner Buckman to conclude the meeting. With no further business, Buckman declared the meeting adjourned at 6:04 P.M.
